Agree EFL have broken with tradition making this the opening competitive game of the season.
A great move in my opinion.
Previous seasons final friendly before first league match normally showed manager's favored starting 11.

Tosh as a manager with us really had the midas touch.
He couldn't put a foot wrong.
He did have a great mentor behind the scenes in Bill Shankley.

Youngsters peak at different ages.
I can remember watching Jimmy Loveridge playing on Cwm Level Park and honestly thinking he was going to be the next George Best.
Yes,Jimmy had a good career in football but never reached the heights I thought he would.

Holding out for a hero should be our new theme song in my opinion.
A great feel good song from one of our own.
I'm fed up with the old Swansea song and that's coming from someone who was at White Hart Lane for that famous 3 1 win.
Its too dated sadly.

Absolutely.
We should be honoring our heroes whilst they are alive.
Legends like Mel Nurse for example - but too late now for Mel now who is in a very poor state of health.

It amazes me as to why so many of our hardened season ticket holders of many years just dont turn up for the early rounds of this competition.
There is such a feel good factor around the club at the moment.
We are up against a fellow championship club in a tournament we can proudly say we previously won.
The club deserve all our support now more than ever.
I love the fact that they have moved the first round match to before the first league game.
This is no meaningless friendly - it's the real thing.
This is an important match with with something riding on it.

Sadly - recently we've lost one of our very own and an icon worldwide.
Great to hear her song before the game today.
But let's now fully embrace her and give her the full accolade she truly deserves over the next few matches.
Face on the screens and her music bellowing all around the stadium.
She's a true legend worldwide.
As a club let's embrace her and be so proud of her ❤️

Burgess is a leader.
Thought he looked far better balanced playing alongside Lissah.
He and Cabango are too similar in styles.
Needs a contrast in pairing.
Impressed by Lissah by the way - all be it I only watched the first half.

I really like Yalcouye.
Don't think we quite saw the best of him last season.
Would love to see this happen.
The lad has real potential.
Leon Briton coaching him could be a great fit for him and the club.
