Didn’t take our chances today and came back to regret it!
But still a fair few sloppy performances today, as it was only Bellis, Bazunu and Bednerak (although I’d like to know as to why he was subbed at HT?) that did everything they could and can’t be criticised.
As even our usual consistent players like Downes, KWP, Stu, A.Armstrong etc… all seemed pretty poor today and didn’t seem to create too much nor take their chances when they came.
But still 18 undefeated and 10 points from our 4 Christmas games sure aren’t bad totals, even more so seeing that Ipswich didn’t win either today |

Well that was well annoying! Especially around Bazunu, as him and Bednerak were both outstanding today, and Bazunu did some great saves and long balls, but that mistake at the end had kinda removed most of the praise he’d got from before then.
But even then we just can’t seem to put many games to bed and it’s why we can’t seem to keep up with Leicester and Ipswich. But still unfortunately todays draw was a fair result as we had the chances for the second half, whilst it was the first half that they had there’s.
Although at the same time a 12 game unbeaten run ain’t exactly the worst, but unless one of Ipswich or Leicester have a major slip up soon, well the highest I can see is finishing now is 3rd, and then we’ll have the playoffs to deal with. Which is even more annoying for how we’d be in a auto spot for most other seasons in the championship |

Well fair play to those lads out there today, as other than Fraser, I think everyone who started or came off the bench to participate in this game out on a decent display. As there were periods and plays that genuinely reminded me of the likes of Man City and Barca for how well we played the ball around them and left their players lost in the middle of the pitch. And both manning and A.Armstrong both were outstanding today, which is especially good for Manning with how much criticism he’s had recently. So overall a great display with only us not getting more goals today being about the only negative from it.
Although also fair play to the ref, who also had a great game, and played some great advantages, including the one to start the attack for our first goal. As about the only thing I though he could’ve done better, was the few throw ins that he and the AR’s had no clue about, looking a bit lost himself and not very convincing. But outside of that a pretty solid display from the referee and officiating crew. |

Pretty much everyone was poor today for us, as I think the best players we had were the likes of A.Armstrong, Stu and Che, as they created absolutely nothing, but at the same time didn’t make any major howlers and just didn’t do much, whilst everyone else did make howlers and did much worse than nothing! |

Fair play to Selles for playing Walcott, Elynousie and the trio he brought on in the second half, as all 5 of them did have decent games and did prove many doubters (including myself) wrong over the criticism he was getting after the team sheet came out |

As much as todays display was much better than last weeks or any previous games we’ve had for a while, it just ain’t good enough!
As from the hour after they went down to 10 men, we’d managed to go from 11V10, being all over them, having soo many chances compared to their few and actually playing some great football! To ending up loosing 2-1! As everyone was playing so well up until their first goal with absolutely nobody playing poorly, yet bednerak just tops it all off with that own goal. As how he’s playing over Calleta Car just makes no sense at all !
As today for most of the game we really didn’t look like that bad of a team, with all 3 of our new signings looking really good, but unfortunately just a mere 3 points from 8 games ain’t good enough one bit. And unless we however we get in is some sorta miracle worker then we are well and truly done for!
As you don’t get many games giving you a better chance at 3 points than this one.
As it reminded me of England at the euros and World Cup, being all over their opponents for a majority of the game, easily being able to win with just that one more goal with all the chances we had, yet because we don’t our opponents get one back and get into it, and then to top it all off get a late last minute winner/win on penalties!
Although it sure was nice to see a ref actually make a player properly pay for the dissent they gave! |
