I agree re not knowing about the new rule. Couldn’t believe he said that in his interview. A professional goalkeeper and wasn’t aware! Makes me think he doesn’t watch much football as refs have been counting down on their fingers in most games all season! That aside I thought he had a very good game. |

Might just be me but I actually thought Dembele was really bright when he came on. Was beating players, drawing fouls and looked up for it. Unlucky with the shot as well. |

Last year I went and there was a Pay and Display around a few mins walk from the Harvester where R's fans met. (its on Hudson Road as just looked at map) Cost about £5-6 from memory. There is also parking at the Harvester but limited spaces. I have booked the non-official parking that looks to be about 20 mins away and costs a tenner, as from looking at it, I am hoping for a quicker getaway. yes its a 20 min walk, but last year it was probably a 10 min walk to the car from the ground and then I sat in a queue for an hour getting away. There is restriced parking all down the road from Harvester, all the way to the ground, however those with a disabled parking permit parked along there and it was 'rammed' (excuse the pun!) It will be tight but think you will just make it. I would say 9 times out of 10 you would be fine at that time but you just never know! PS - My tickets just arrived :) |

I am no expert but in the last 10 years, Stock Market returns have been far far higher than any savings account. Thats not to say dont take your 25% but sticking in a 'safe' account that barely keeps with inflation vs a longer term Stock Market investment should be considered IMO. Ebveryone to their own but this brings it home for me The S&P 500 returned 261% during the last decade, which equates to 13.6% annually. (You would have been lucky to get 1% 10 years ago and yes the last year its been 4-5% but 13.6% each year even traking into account the meltdowns of COVID, Truss, Ukraine War, Trump tarrifs) For me the markets will always win over a loner period (5+ years) |

I actually thought it was a positive seeing all these support staff around. The game is different to what it was years ago and data/analytics/psychology/logisitcs are part of that game. I didnt think we had all that so was pleasing. The photo could have been even bigger with all the other staff e.g. box office, media team (somehting else that is big now), shop staff. It didnt even need to stop there, could have added matchday programme sellers, kiosk staff and even the stewards Golfers and F1 drivers have loads of people around them (all playing their part for the one person) its the same with our squad and the same in many other businesses. | Forum Thread | Hayden in The Athletic at 20:40 15 Aug 2025
Nice interview in The Athletic with Issac Hayden. Pretty long read but here is R’s bit for anyone interested. In the second half of the 2023-24 season, there was another loan, this time to QPR. It was a good fit, even if they were struggling in the Championship. “Great club, great history,” he says. “I did my research, the squad looked good, the training ground is unbelievable.” People won’t know the next bit. “They didn’t have much money,” Hayden says, “I had other options, but I really wanted to play for them, so I took a big pay cut to go there. It sounds crazy, but I was effectively paying to play.” It worked out. QPR stayed up and over the course of that entire season, Hayden played regularly. “I didn’t miss a game I was fit for,” he says. “I wasn’t injured once. Physically, I was back. QPR was like a match made in heaven. I’d have loved to have made that permanent.” And then? “I’d played the last few games of the season with a dislocated shoulder,” he says. “Not ideal, a bit tricky. I thought it was going to be an injection and then rest, but the surgeon said it was completely gone. If I didn’t have an operation, I wouldn’t pass a medical.” On his future (nothing Rs related - at the moment!) Now what? “It’s a good question,” Hayden says. He is as fit as he ever has been, with a personalised pre-season under his belt, training every day with a specialist coach at Regent’s Park. “I’m a free agent for the first time in my career, which is weird, so I’m waiting for the phone to ring. “I feel excited. I’m at the age where I want to really impact a club. Can I improve their players and help them develop? Can I contribute in a bigger way, whether on or off the pitch? I’m open. If somebody sees value in me, then great, let’s have a conversation.” He is still coming to terms with the absence of Newcastle. During his own absences, at Norwich and the rest, he “always felt really happy the club was going in the right direction. And I was still representing Newcastle in a way. My name always had Newcastle next to it and that meant something. I never wanted to let them down.” A funny thing. Back in January, before he left for Fratton Park, with the long goodbye drawing closer, Hayden had a thought. “I’ve got a ‘what-if’, positive kind of personality,” he says. “Even then, I was looking at Newcastle and thinking, ‘What if I got a training session with the first team, what if I did really well, what if I made my way back into a squad, what if I got a chance?’.” Another funny thing. He has finally gone but cannot wait to come back. “I hope people know I did my best whenever I put the shirt on,” he says. “Now it’s fully over, I would love to come to a game again.” |

I was the same as A40bosh. No problem at all. Did you click the number of tickets you want before trying to select. I made that mistake once and took me a few mins to work out. Soon as I changed the amount of tickets I wanted, it then let me purchase. |
