As proved in the last couple of days homegrown players have a massive impact on team selection. Not having Lissah in the squad meant that we had to include homegrown youngsters on the bench and meant we couldn't include Stewart in the squad. Burgess, Cabango, Tymon, Lissah and Key are homegrown, Welsh and Ronald are not. As you move forward neither of Fulton, Stamenic are homegrown, in fact only Idah of Saturdays outfield 11 is homegrown. Back to the original post of the back four suggested only Lissah and Tymon would be homegrown. Its not necessarily picking the best defence it's about picking the best squad for any particular match within the rules. |

All about pollution is a load of bollux. The A48 is closer to residential properties yet you can do 70mph on the duel carriageway, whilst the 50mph two lane motorway is further away. |

I thought the problem with their goal was we had half a dozen players in the 6 yard box and nobody moved to block the shot when we are normally very good at doing this. As for the Ronald chance near the end, with the keeper covering the near post he was right to head the ball back across the goal, except he miss timed the header and in bounced over the head of Idah. |

The revelation by Vetch on another thread about Woodward and Haywood being on the bench yesterday because we were short of home grown players, has made me think about the complexities of managing a squad. Was a reason Walta loaned out because we couldn't have so many non home grown players in midfield. |
