Saints V Tottenham Hotspur The Verdict
Wow, what a great result over the divers. I agree about the transformation in Stephens & JWP. JWP tackling hard & even getting yellow carded is a pleasure to watch, a few weeks we would have conceded. As I've said before with a bit more our defence doesn't look so bad. 1 or 2 signings in Jan & we can look forward to good second half of the season. Let's hope though that Ings stays fit.
Saints At Aston Villa The Verdict
Boy oh boy did we need that result. A much better performance albeit against a pretty poor Villa. Playing with just the one wide man gave us much more balance between defence & attack.
Pluses today were:
Armstrong - Surely must be given a run in the side
Stephens - Best game for a long time
JWP - Showing what he can do, a real 90 min effort (& I'm one of his biggest critics)
Ings - Continues to shine
However, the negatives were:
PEH - Still struggling despite all the huff & puff, his passing is woeful
Cedric - Still looks a liability, roll on the transfer window
Obafemi - Doesn't look PL standard. Please give Adams more of a chance
Let's hope they can start reproducing this form at St Mary's.
Saints At Aston Villa The Preview
He's picked the same team again apart from enforced change of Armstrong for Djenep. Why oh why are Redmond, Hojbjerg & Cedric anywhere near the first team on current form. Give Adams a start to see what he can do not just 2-3 minutes. But no keep the tried & tested failures.
So unfortunately we expect the same result.
Saints V West Ham United The Verdict
Another absolutely woeful home performance. Not sure where to start. Our defence is poor but the midfield are just as much to blame. Redmond is getting worse each week, he doesn't even deserve to be on the bench let alone start. When he's on the pitch everything goes through him & he consistently fails to deliver meaning Djenepo is starved of the ball. PEH was dire, just cannot pass. Playing 2 wide men of average ability doesn't work. Start with Romeo, Armstrong, JWP & Djenepo with Boufal as impact sub.
What has happened to Bertie, I lost count how many times he was caught out of possession or bottled a challenge which resulted in Bednarek being pulled all over the place. Stephens actually looked the best of our defenders.
Why does Adams only get 5 minutes, give the guy a chance please. I'd like to see him start against Villa with Long as sub to stretch a tiring defence.
Oh for a few more players with the desire, passion & effort of Ings.
Are there 3 teams worse than us at the moment, I don't think so. Unfortunately this side won't survive in the Championship.

Agree with most of your article until you included JWP In your lineup. Surely he's had more than enough chances. Enough is enough.
Saints At Everton The Verdict
It's not just our defence that's poor, but a lot of the blame must lie with our totally ineffective midfield which gives no protection at al. Any defence would struggle with our midfield. However, we did witness another world class performance from JWP who added another string to an impressive list of can't tackle, can't run, can't create chances, can't pass forwards, now we know he can't captain. Perhaps next week Ralph will pick him in goal to show that he's no good between the posts. Ralph's team selection must involve numbered balls in a hat to see who plays where. With this squad of players & coaching we won't even survive in the Championship.
Saints Scapegoats Show They Have Fight
One half decent performance & a goal from a keepers error & all is forgiven with JWP. You can't ignore 3 years of underperforming. Grant you he's the best midfielder to slow up the attack & forget forward passes can be quite profitable. Hopefully a couple more decent games before the transfer window & someone may want to buy him, god knows who though.
Saints At Manchester City The Preview
Just seen the starting lineup. Couldn't play any more defensive players if he tried, pity they can't defend. Same ponderous negative midfield. Still JWP plays, what the hell. Looks like I'll be 6 feet under before he gets dropped. Worth a punt for another 9-0 drubbing at 150-1. Hope I'm wrong but picking a side for damage limitation is just not good enough. Play any of the youngsters who haven't started this year, they can't be any worse.
Saints At Manchester City The Preview
And still JWP plays. I,
'D like to know the hold he's got within the club, because it certainly isn't his prowess on the field. With this midfield we're going to get trounced. Stephens, Danso out of position & Valery who can't defend. What the hell is going on. Could be worse than Friday night.
Saints V Leicester City The Preview
JWP starts again. How much worse does he have to be before he gets dropped. Unfortunately can only see a Leicester win.
Saints At Wolverhampton Wanderers The Preview
Please please no more JWP. I've seen enough of his ponderous play, sideways, backwards passing. How many goals are scored from his set pieces - hardly any. Time for a change - anyone else has got to be an improvement. He's had more than enough chances to prove himself.
Saints V Chelsea The Preview
JWP, Romeo & Hojberg in midfield again, no pace or attacking flair. Chelsie will have a field day. Hope I'm wrong but can't see it.
Saints V Manchester City The Preview
JWP starting, not a cat in hells chance. Why oh why. Play one of the academy players instead. When did we last win with JWP starting
Saints At Tottenham Hotspur The Verdict
Same old story. Start with JWP & we never win. Play Yoshi & we concede goals through poor defending. So much for playing the old school last night.
Saints V Watford The Verdict
The game was lost as soon as JWP came on after 72 min. Why oh why does MH persevere with him, is it any coincidence we concede so many goals in the last 10 min.
