 | Forum Reply | Nardi Hamer what’s that all about? at 20:57 5 Jan 2026
It looks to me that Nardi is coming off his line more often this season, with various degree of success. But I do get the idea he/they are making an effort to address that particular issue. |

I think that very much depends how how bad Morrison’s injury is. If he is out for a while, it means we only have Cook & Dunne and the latter is RB cover as well. Unless JCS is back soon. But agreed, LB and RB needs cover at least and a Ronnie Edwards in the mix would be nice. |

We look like we are running on fumes...if Burrell & Varane are long-term, I can't see us risking any other key players against West Ham. Sadly. |

I think I read somewhere that RND would be recalled by the Blades, which would make signing a LB top priority for me. Even as it stands, I am not fully convinced we have enough cover there. Apart from that, I hope we see more of Hayden, Morgan, Kolli and in particular Morrison in the new year. Hayden because I think he could/should play more and alternate with Varane, the other three because I think they have a role to play at the club longer term and need some minutes. I would love Ronnie back also, but have a terrible fear he wont live up to his high level from last time out when signed permanently. Hope I am wrong, but Stefan Johansen is still fresh in the memory. That said, Ronnie has a whole career ahead and I doubt we’ll pay hom the sort of money that would afford him to slack of. |

We can always recall Zelar from his loan (still on zero league goals in Germany from 9 appearances totalling 309 minutes of playing time) [Post edited 8 Dec 2025 13:13]

Tyler is class. I've had to watch a few games with the oppo commentaries and it was dreadful. I think the Swansea team in particular was pathetic. Didn't even know our players' names, just referred to them as "the striker" or "the goalkeeper". Absolutely no emotion either. Seems like a matter of time before he'll be off to bigger and better things. One of the most sellable on our staff at the moment |

Really nothing to be concerned about, huge financial windfall coming his way, couple of months holiday. Football management is the only career that can make you filthy rich by being bad at your job. I stand corrected, but I believe Ronald Koemand received more than 20m in total for being sacked at Everton and Barcelona. |

I would personally have picked Hayden above Varane, but otherwise I think this is pretty much the strongest line-up we can field at the moment. I like it. Early 3-0 lead, then we can start to give minutes to some fringe players. |

I think it's an unrealistic target to expect 2-3 home grown lads to come through the ranks into the 1st team every year. That just won't happen. It would be fantastic to produce Eze's on a regular basis, but I think the current path of buying more established players in their early 20's and selling on has a better chance of success and we'll end up with fewer Travelmans and Shodipos. That said, I am very curious as to the Kolli situation and believe he should be above Frey. And I think Morgan and Esquerdinha should get more minutes. But I also think results and a steady platform is important. I can't imagine it's a healthy "development environment" for youngsters to fight relegation battles. It might be good experience, but I don't think ideal development circumstances. So I am all for steading the ship and making sure we are a solid championship outfit, both on the field and financially, then start to groom the youngsters. Its not an overnight process. And as I have said many times before, the likes of Cook and Hayden are very valuable old hands and experience that this "project" absolutely needs. |

Can they drop out of the league / football setup altogether? What are the next steps now? Would benefit us if they are kicked out, means we didn't drop points there. My best mate is a Wednesday supporter. Poor fella. |

I have a suspicion we were just trying to hang on here and go full tilt at Derby. But with the seemingly depth we have now, expected a bit more oomf here. Good to bounce back after the Millwall defeat, take the 3 points and move on. |
