Those sorts of non compete clauses are pretty standard across industries at top levels. Interestingly the US sort of just banned them as being anti competitive |

Because i've got more of a life than just football and will chat to them when i see them next down the pub, it's interesting to find stuff out but ultimately makes little to no difference to my life so i'm not exactly going to go chasing after it. |

Would imagine potter has his eyes on a bigger job than us to be honest, you'd assume United and possibly West Ham will be up soon, possibly even Everton. If i was him i'd not consider a side that's most likely going down if they're potentially available |

I'd imagine the speculation comes from the same place that the stuff i'd heard prior to the bournemouth game of him having three games came from. It's a weird one, you normally hear very little concrete about inbounds unless someone has been seen at the training ground or a meeting has been booked in, but outbounds are generally fairly reliable. I knew about Ralph a good month or so before it happened, board members leaving months before they were announced, and even the sale of the club (including what it was sold for) 3months or so before it was announced. Football clubs are genuinely awful at keeping things quiet, and there's such a strong cross over of staff between clubs and press it's usually a fair guess if the press have run with it there's some truth in there. |

No idea, but that decisions isn't down to me. I just don't think Martin is good enough and haven't since last season |

Her shares were effectively diluted in the sale though weren't they? So whilst she "owned" 20% the club/company have since released more shares which has taken her down to 15% or thereabouts |

Dumb question but can we even get rid of Ramus? I thought he was a large shareholder in the club and effectively part of the group that owns it. So presumably the only way to "get rid of him" is to buy him out? |

For that last reason alone i'm Moyes in |

Honestly find this line of reasoning hilarious, of course the media know what's going on. Most of them have friends working at very senior levels of the majority of football clubs, and when people like me and mates know what's going on (and it's really not hard to find out) it shows that clubs are leakier than knickers of the front row of a magic mike show. |

Yeah but inversely say we lose those there the season is practically over already. I genuinely don't see Martin winning all three of those games, and would be surprised if he wins one from three. He's really just not good enough and needs to be binned off now before it's too late |
| Forum Reply | New manager at 12:09 2 Oct 2024
From what i've heard he has no interest in coming to Saints |

Actually i disagree, the issue with Ralph was we didn't sack him soon enough. He should've been gotten rid of in the close season and a manager given proper time to build his own side ahead of the season. Instead we had a toxic and broken squad who were already on course to relegation when the new manager came in (admittedly that manager was beyond inept). And that's exactly why i think we shouldn't be dithering with Martin now, we need him binned off already, it's clear he's not good enough and the longer we leave it the more impossible the task is, and the more we narrow our odds of getting anyone half decent. SR really have cocked up so much about the club to be honest, and it worries me they haven't learned from previous mistakes and been more ruthless to get what they want. |

It's bullsh*t hipster b*llocks, of course i'd like to see us play fluid passing football where we cut through teams and looked like prime total football Holland. But we don't have the players and aren't good enough, so how about just trying to win games and changing things up depending on who we're playing. As Shankly once said "Football is a simple game made complicated by people who should know better" |

One thing i can't get my head round is why people keep saying "I like Martin", i mean can anyone explain why so many people say they like Martin? Seriously all i see is people saying "i like Martin but..." followed by a list of his failings. The bloke struggled to get us promoted, and arguably only did so because he changed his style of play which was the thing that held us back. He has then started the season with a nigh on suicidal system that has seen us ship goals and create nothing, then blamed the players/himself and ignored what needs to be fixed (which is obvious to everyone). He's also shown complete arrogance in refusing to adapt, and changes his team every week so there's no consistency. So what the hell is it people like? Because at this point in time i'm starting to thing the only thing it can be is "the idea of his football", as there's pretty much nothing else there to enjoy than some conceptual philosophy. |

Personally i thought it was interesting how us and Bournemouth both used almost identical tactics. They passed the ball towards our goal, and we also passed the ball towards our goal... |
