Best wishes to you Ted. Can tell you are a fighter from the way you write, so absolutely every best wishes to you in feeling as better as quickly as is possible for you.
Your presence on here is greatly missed.
Mart - hard to put into words what you and your wife are going through. Absolutely also, likewise she is showing great resolve and spirit in getting to a better place. I do sincerely also wish the two of you, every hope for better days ahead as well.
Life can be a right b'stard at times and we all have to fight. I hope all Rangers that are going through hard times, can gain some semblance that we all care and want everyone to have their best lives, but sometimes its just very cruel..
As the title says - more to life - Rangers is a nice distraction - but ultimately thats what it is.
Wishing you all well in your respective battles ahead. Hope progress can happen for all. |

Sad news.
Fantastic character. Would love to have him as a work colleague. Life is never dull with Amadou around.
Erratic player but pace to burn and sometimes has fabulous defensive challenges that he seems to have little chance of winning but he does.
His exuberance and excitement in celebrations will be greatly missed.
He truly is completely crazy but in a kind of controlled manner.
Blimey. Everyone will miss him this season. Great shame for him and us all. |

As for Vale. He is still very young. Further ahead of schedule than Adamson was at his age. I think he will get better. Has a lot of qualities, but room for improvement, which I think he has it in him to do so... |

One thing that p*sses me off is after a loss, there is always a pile on here on one player, as being fricking useless.
Todays attack by the boo boys was full on Harvey Vale. Appreciate it wasnt his best game, was poor today, but many others were very poor today also. Stand up Smythie, Kolli, Poku, Kamara, Adamson amd Varane and Kone, when they came on.
But yes lets all pile on one player. The guy scored a goal, entirely crafted by himself in the last game and effectively put the game out of reach at a critical time in the.game - just before half time.
Its all a little bit silly.

Obikwu has had one appearance of around ten minutes. Thats it. Richards had several.
He is on the bench, and if ever there was a game for him to come on, its this one. We have looked resigned to defeat from the second goal going in.

Two subs in two windows that mean if we make all five subs , we have to make three all in one go next.
The sub Varane for JCS, to me says we have given up on this game, which is ridiculous.
If Obikwu is on the bench, he is deemed fit to play. Give him a chance, we not getting anything at all out of this game currently, give the kid a chance and no pressure on him for this one.

Stupid goal to give away.
But still required scoring. Rayan Kolli's fault 100%.
I would make subs at half time. Madsen for JCS. Edwards back into back four.
Saito for Vale/Poku at 60 mins if nothing changes.
And the longer the game goes on, the more I expect the lesser spotted Obikwu coming on to score two worldies to recover the spoils for the good guys..... |

I understand why you are saying that the bench looks lightweight and it is compared to recent matches, but for us to be saying the bench looks lightweight, when you have Madsen, Varane, Kone and Saito, is quite remarkable tbf. |

Don't they have driveable buggies that come on in the premier league and the player at least has a comfortable ride back off the pitch.
Stretchers are as cheap as they come. But normally you get four people running on with them, so that all four can have a side, front and back each, and they all have the ability to run, to get to the injured player in time.
The response was pub league football on a Sunday morning in the local park !!
Whats a buggy going to cost 30 grand maximum perhaps, maybe a lot less, but seems like a good investment for the club, with the hope that its never used. Not massive bucks to spend for a championship football league club. Agree, it was a pathetic response, from the club. They need to change that completely. [Post edited 17 Oct 8:28]

Re Kone, i hope he can regain his form, and from what I saw last season, Kone, Varane and Mbengue seemed to be great mates. If the unfortunate Amadou's pretty awful injury can do anything, its for his two best mates to up their game and play for their great friend.
If Kone came on today and scored, I think it could do wonders for his confidence, but
do severely hope fans don't get on his back, as think that may not help.
He was decent for us all last season, he deserves our support and hopes that he can be effective, once more. [Post edited 17 Oct 8:08]

Met my Pompey pals for the first game of the season and said had seen our new goalkeeper in pre season and said his range of passing is peak Beckham or peak Wilkins - they all mocked me and said you seriously think your goalkeeper is on a par with passing accuracy and control as those two players.
"Mad" was probably the politest word they called me.

If JS was to leave, I think it could massively impact on our consistently improving form. You get the impression, that he is here to stay, to build up his and our reputations. Obviously, when any manager starts to show successes, they attract teams higher up the food chain.
One thing would say about JS. He does appear to be an honourable man. You would not see him whoring himself out to others unashamedly, like a couple of our most recent incumbents.
Think he knows a couple of seasons here, he could dramatically improve his and our profiles and think with the failures that Beale and Cifuentes have had since leaving our club too early, has set them back. JS knows he needs to stay here for a while - before the next move is secured for his own career.
On a night time, lets lock him up in cubicle number six of the Lower Loft Enclosure Gentleman's public conveniences.
He cannot be allowed to escape ever !!!
