Saints Legends In Pictures - Rickie Lambert
at 13:37:23

What a player ! Best Centre forward at Saints since the Great Ron Davies ! He was such an intelligent player . His hold up play and distribution were excellent . He could score with both feet and was superb in the air ! His character was great . It was magical seeing him score on his debut for England against Scotland ….i certainly jumped out of my seat ! Will always be remembered as a legend . Hope to see him at half time at st Marys so we can show our appreciation ! Thanks Ricky for so many happy memories !

Difficult Times For Saints ! But Not Disastrous
at 17:53:49

We have had some tough fixtures and with too many injuries it was always going to be hard to pick up points. Add to this unfair VAR decisions going against us ! This is a blip the team has been great to watch this season and with a full team were picking up points as a top 6 side. I love Ralph and have every faith in him and the team to get back to winning ways. Disappointed that Che was dropped as he puts in a real shift and was forming a good partnership with Ings , he has set up numerous chances for this teammates and holds the ball up well with his strength. His goals will come. Putting Redmond up top was a mistake in my opinion as his final ball is often lacking . Surprised that Ralph took off Armstrong v wolves as his running with the ball and eye for goal has been great. One area I would try improve on is to move the ball quicker and that starts with the goalkeeper, a quick throw can take out several opponents , rather than wait for a solid bank of 10 to try and get through. Mix up the options a bit to keep the opposition guessing . Keep up the good work and get back to winning ways.

Rickie Lambert Retires
at 17:40:44

I love our Rickie. I would say he was the best centre forward we have had since Ron Davies. He was the most intelligent footballer we have had and his football brain 2nd to none. Strikers would benefit from watching his game . He held up the ball so well and brought others into play. His lay offs were always into space with the right weight of pass. His deadball and penalties were a joy to watch and he made superb contact with the ball with power and precision. Sfc please get Rickie here as striking coach and teach our current crop how to improve and play. Name a stand or build a statue to the legend that is Ricky Lambert . I wish Rickie the best and he will always be welcome here.

Saints V Watford The Verdict
at 23:41:20

Agree with most of the posts. Yesterdays game was truly awful. Watford totally outplayed us. We were outfought, outwitted . Watford wanted it more than us, we are too weak, slow and devoid of ideas. Having following saints for 50 years i cant remember a run so poor as our last dozen matches. MP doesnt inspire me with confidence and swopping a lone striker for another is plain crazy when chasing the game. Tadic, Redmond, Boufal and jwp are all too lightweight and create little. Gabadini has had no support, Austin is clearly not match fit. And long given no playing time at all. Maybe we can use 1 of these per game but certainly not all 4. We must try 2 or 3 of our strikers to play up front together. Romeo needs to shave his hair as he is not the player he was last season. Agree Forster needs a rest as his ratio of shot stopping is woeful.we lack leaders on the pitch, where is an alan Ball type . Maybe VVD playing in midfield would give us some balls. After a kind fixture list we have really messed up and change is needed otherwise a very long and miserable season ahead.
