Pompey could have a surprise addition to their squad for next season - Liam Lawrence.

The skipper and scorer of one of the goals in the 3-0 victory over Bolton on Saturday is one of the high-earners Adminstrator Trevor Birch needs to cagree a compromise deal with.

The Republic of Ireland international has attracted interest from Championship clubs and a move away remains the most likely outcome.

However, it is understood Lawrence would consider playing for Pompey in League One next season on a re-negotiated contract.

The other remaining high earner is Tal Ben Haim, who also played in the win over Bolton and he has indicated he might be about to quit the club.

West Ham have shown interest in signing the Israeli international and the player has also indicated he could finally be on his way.

"We are still talking and hopefully I will have something to tell you by Tuesday. There is not much more I can say at the moment. I don't want to say anything that will not be helpful," Ben Haim told the Sunday Express.
