Parker Reveals Swansea's Blackpool Bids Monday, 30th Jun 2008 08:00 One time Swansea target Kiegan Parker has revealed that the Swans offered Blackpool £250,000 for his services last August. Parker was a target for the Swans both last summer and in the January transfer window and Parker told the Yorkshire Evening Post that we came in on both occasions with a firm bid to Blackpool. Both bids, say the player, were rejected although he cannot understand why the bid last summer was turned down as, he says, he had already told Blackpool that he had no intention of signing a new contract with them. Parker was released at the end of last season and will play next at the Galpharm Stadium for Huddersfield hoping to repeat the League One success he enjoyed with Blackpool back in 2006/7. He scored the final goal in the play offs that season as the Seasiders got their return to Championship level. Parker told the YEP “I didn't play much and only started eight or nine games last season. "The moment I was involved in Huddersfield, Doncaster were really keen as well. Southampton also were until their manager got sacked and that (interest) was nailed on. Before last season ended, I had a few clubs such as Southampton and Swansea, who wanted to take me on loan.
