Paulo Sousa wants the Swans to retain their cool as they look to return to winning ways this weekend

The Swansea City boss would love to end their pre-Christmas fixtures with a victory at Hillsborough on Saturday - a victory that would be their first on the famous ground.

Speaking to the Evening Post ahead of the game, Sousa said "We need to keep creating those opportunities but after that the last touch has to be better

"Sometimes our players arrive too quickly when the chance comes.

"The desire to score is so big that sometimes the player's speed is too high.

"Sometimes, to make the right decision, we need to be more cold.

"We have talked about that with the players and we have worked hard on it in training — we have kept on repeating the moment when the chance comes.

"But in training the chance comes 10 times. In a match it only comes once and that's the one we have to take — and I know we have the players to do that.

"I saw one programme (last Saturday) where they had an idea about us having one player in the box, but it's a completely wrong idea," he continued.

"I like him (Claridge), but he sees football differently from me.

"It's always difficult when this happens," Sousa said.

"The manager had been there for a long time and I'm sure the players had a good relationship with him.

"They will find extra energy tomorrow because of that.

"But it's up to us make things difficult for them and to put more pressure on them from the beginning.

"Teams are looking to cause problems for us there and they have done it a couple of times," he said.

"They have cost us points and we need to be stronger."
