Saints Remain Interested In Gabon Midfielder
Wednesday, 1st Jun 2016 14:59

Reports in France & Italy are suggesting that Saints will compete with Torino for the services of French club L'orient's Gabon International midfielder Didier Ibrahim Ndong.

This is not the first time Saints have been linked with Ndong, they were linked earlier in the year, with the midfielder enjoying a great first full season with L'orient after joining them in January 2015.

That form has attracted plenty of interest and Torino are rumoured to have started the bidding war with a very low opening offer of around £3 million for the player with L'orient, looking for nearer £8 million.

Ndong would be seen as a direct replacement for Wanyama and after 4 years in the Tunisian League and 18 months in France has plenty of experience for his age, he will turn 22 in a couple of weeks.

Saints will certainly be looking at plenty of players of this ilk across Europe as they seek to replace Wanyama who increasingly is accepted to be on his way this summer.

The trick for Saints is to find another gem as they did three years ago when the Kenyan joined from Celtic.
