Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson believes his side is not only more than capable of winning their game at the Swansea.com stadium on Sunday they will do so passing the fifty point mark in the championship.

A confident Pearson who has already put the Swans out of the FA Cup recently see’s the game as a real chance to put another one over the home side. “We’ve done really well since the Christmas period and had lots of positives,” reflected Pearson. “We’ve had some setbacks too with injuries which has asked different questions of the squad. It's going to be important for us to finish this block of games with a good result. But as much as anything we want to try and pass that 50-point mark and look at the last block games and see where we can get to.”

Pearson wants his players to have a “freedom to go and win the game”, adding: “We've just got to go there with a positive mindset and make sure that we do the job. When we've got on to the pitch and basically done what we've talked about doing, and done it with an enthusiasm, we've played well and managed to get some really good results.”

The form table states very clearly who is the more likely to take the spoils this Sunday, and it isn’t Swansea City who sit at the foot of the on recent form. It doesn’t make good reading, so please look away now if easily ‘disturbed’

The Robins do have injuries. On that Pearson said “The likes of Matty James, Kal Naismith and Tommy Conway, should be available after the break. It’s positive and hopefully Tomas Kalas will be making more progress. It will be an encouragement for us too. It comes as a decent time for us, but we want to finish these group of games with a good result “

On his teams loss at Luton on Tuesday Pearson wasn’t happy, but thanked his goalkeeper for keeping the Robins in with a chance in the 1-0 loss. “We managed to get to half time intact and second half we played better. Max made three really good saves to keep us in the game, we've had our chances, but it was a tough night for us as we had too many players out of sorts. Players are going to have off days, but what we don’t want is more or less most of the team not really with a positive outlook”

Swansea City v Bristol City kicks off at 12.30pm this coming Sunday
