Virgin Media To Subsidise Two Away Games
at 13:11:50

Worth noting that the announcement also states that Virgin Media have decided to stop the subsidy for away fans visiting St Marys although it's not clear if this is with immediate effect or from the start of next season:

"After two proud seasons, the decision has also been made by our club sponsor to stop the ticket subsidy for away fans visiting St Mary’s, in order to make way for their new and refreshed fan initiatives."

Premier League Announce Final Day Live Games

Thought they'd wait until after the Arsenal-Sunderland game tomorrow night as if Sunderland get a point then they are safe so there would be no point showing their last game.

Make Or Break March

I too am disappointed in the ticketing arrangements for the Pompey and Coventry games, particularly those put in place for Pompey.

Why are season ticket holders being given the opportunity to purchase an extra ticket for the Pompey game a full week before tickets are made available to non-season ticket holders...??

Season ticket holders obviously already have a ticket for both the Pompey game and the linked Doncaster game so why should they need to buy another one. Surely those fans that do not already have a guaranteed ticket should be given the first opportunity to buy tickets.

I am not too bothered about the Coventry game as I can't see too many people forking out for three games at once so I think plenty of tickets will still be available for Coventry when they go on general sale and will no longer be linked to another game.

Saints V Cardiff The Verdict
at 12:52:34

Agree with most of your points Stephen.

Fox's distribution, both going forward and cross-field, was terrible all game and unusually for Richardson most of his crosses were over hit when in a good position.

Thought Cork had his best game for quite a while though but agree that he could offer more from an attacking perspective. I would say that on last night's evidence Morgan is more of a candidate to make way for Chaplow when he returns rather than Cork.

With regards to Puncheon's substitution I can only assume that he was knackered after putting in a great shift first-half. NA had obviously given him instructions to get back out there for the first 10 minutes of the second-half and get on the ball as much as possible to try and get us playing at a higher tempo than in the first-half which he did to good effect in my opinion.

One Hit Wonders - Derek Allen

I played against Neil Bartlett in the Tyro League when he was a nipper so I remember him making his debut. He was one of a few local lads that got a couple of games for the 1st team around about that time, Neil Hopper and Kevin Gibbens being the others that spring to mind.

I did my work experience in Toomers some 20 odd years ago. Brings back memories every time I walk past the building where it used to be on my way down to SMS. And I always have a little look in the window of H & H when having a stroll down Shirley High Street.

Local Derby At St Mary's Tonight
at 12:08:48

I agree that these two sides are more than just 'pub teams' and they have done a great deal this past season to raise the profile of local football.

I do however also agree that £10 is slightly overpriced for this match when you consider that the England U21s game in a couple of weeks is also £10 (although with the recent squad announcement and the likes of Carroll, Wilshere and Lallana missing out the value of this match has deteriorated slightly).

I will be there tonight however and am looking forward to a cracking game.

Kelvin Or Bart For The Last Game
at 16:08:30

I agree with bstokesaint in that getting to 92 points and the '2 points per game average' would be a fantastic achievement.

Across the 92 league clubs only ourselves, Brighton (who have already achieved it), Man Utd (need 3 points from their last 3 games), Chelsea (need to win at least 2 of their last 3) and Arsenal (need to win all of their last 3) are in a position to achieve that average.

Handing out a drubbing to Walsall would also see us go some way to securing the highest GD across the four divisions as the current top 5 is as follows:

Saints +46
Brighton +45
QPR +40
Man U +38
Chelsea +38

Although Man U and Chelsea still have 3 games to go compared to only 1 game left for Saints, Brighton and QPR.

Walsall Or Dagenham ?
at 11:01:52

As you have stated in your post the Daggers currently have a better GD than Walsall (-13 for the Daggers against -17 for Walsall) so if the Daggers were to get a draw at Peterborough and Walsall were to lose then the Daggers would be safe no matter what the margin of Walsall's defeat.

Therefore, the only way that Walsall can be certain of staying up is if they win at SMS but unfortunately for them I can see this playing right into our hands and they could suffer a bit of a hiding. They would then be relying on Peterborough to beat the Daggers in order to save them and as you have said, with Peterborough's minds on the play-offs I have a sneaky feeling that the Daggers will get the combination of results that they need and Walsall will, unfortunately, be playing in League 2 next season.
