PLAYER RATINGS: Swansea 3 Cardiff 0

The Swans brushed aside their local rivals yesterday with some ease as they coasted to a 3-0 win thanks to goals from Wayne Routledge, Nathan Dyer and Wilfried Bony. How did we see the players performances but more importantly how did you?

Michel Vorm

It was quite nice of Cardiff to ease Vorm back into first team action easily and he will rarely have a quieter game at this level. The one shot on target was from Whittingham and that was saved with ease by the keeper 7

Angel Rangel

One of the biggest threats that the Swans ever have is when the two full backs push up and support the two wide men. Rangel does this as good as anyone else at this level and was a constant threat to Cardiff going forward but didn't really put a foot wrong at the other end either. 8

Chico Flores

Much was written in the week about Chico's reactions to people challenging him but unless someone gets close to him he can't even think about play acting. He started off struggling a little against Kenwyne Jones but he soon got the measure of him and didn't put a foot wrong. 8

Ashley Williams

He's captain of Wales, captain of Swansea and better than anything Cardiff had up front. He was never troubled and led the side expertly from the front and based on his reaction to the first goal is delighted for his former central defensive partner to be in the managerial seat. A happy Ash is exactly what we need. 8

Ben Davies

What Angel did on one side, Ben was doing on the other side and he offers an attacking outlet that will always cause problems for the defenders. A quiet day defensively but always a threat when going forward8

Leon Britton

Leon did what Leon does, do I really need to add more? 9

Jonathan De Guzman

In the first half I thought JDG was outmuscled too often and wasn't fully in the game but he came more into it second half as the Swans took more and more control of the ball. I would still like to see more of him pressing for the ball when the game is even though 7

Marvin Emnes

There was much criticism of the signing of Emnes in the transfer window but yesterday he showed what he can do and was a threat to the Cardiff defence from the very first minute. Whether he would have lasted the 90 had he not been holding his hamstring I have no idea however a good start to his second spell here. 8

Nathan Dyer

One of the criticisms of the Laudrup reign was that the wingers never really looked as threatening as they did under for example Brendan. Well, yesterday that changed and the Swans certainly were looking to utilise the flanks as much as possible. Nathan makes that look easier than so many as well and yesterday he was close to his best 9

Wayne Routledge

Without a doubt Wayne's best game of the season after what has been a poor time for him. Interesting to see the passion in his goal celebration this time after some pretty much flat celebrations to date. Is that a suggestion that he didn't like life under the old manager? Who cares, a good Wayne Routledge is an addition to any team 9

Wilfried Bony

His goal was his only real attempt on target but as we have become used to with Wilf his play offers far more than just scoring goals and he did what we have become used to and was there when it mattered as well 8

Pablo Hernandez

Pablo for me changed the game. We know when he is good he is very very good and his contribution yesterday was immense. The ball for Routs to score the first was just the kind of ball it was going to take to open up the game and there aren't that many who can make that kind of pass in a pressure situation let alone within two minutes of coming into the game. Man of the match for me 10

Jose Canas

Introduced in the second half for JDG and never really put a foot wrong during his appearance. It will be interesting to see how much Monks picks him in the coming weeks but he definitely adds something to the midfield especially in certain circumstances.8

Neil Taylor

Not on the pitch long enough to get a rating but nice to see him introduced, I would rather he stayed here given the reports in January of him wanting out.
