Sam Surridge Interview 13:46 - Dec 8 with 631 viewsKeithHaynes

I know what to expect from Swansea

STRIKER Sam Surridge said he enjoyed his time on loan at Swansea but would “get on with the job at hand” when Cherries visit Liberty Stadium on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old scored seven times in 23 appearances for Steve Cooper’s side, while on loan with the Swans for the first half of the 2019-20 campaign.

He was recalled to Cherries’ squad in January by former boss Eddie Howe, as the Dorset club failed to fight off relegation from the Premier League. And with Surridge set to return to Wales with his boyhood club in the Championship this week — he is eager to help Cherries keep up their promotion push.

Asked how much he gained from his spell with Swansea, the striker, who scored in a 4-0 win over Barnsley on Friday, told the Daily Echo: “It was good playing Championship football for the first half of the season for myself — and getting a lot of experience.
“I think just proving that I could score at this level, that kind of helped me going into this season to do well.

“They are a good team and it’s going to be a hard game. I know what to expect going into it, but I think if we play like we did against Barnsley, it shouldn’t be a problem.
“I was there for a few months and I did really enjoy it there but, as soon as you start playing you forget about it and you’ve just got to get on with the job at hand.
“I am looking forward to it.”

Cherries go into the contest second in the table, with 30 points from 16 league fixtures.
They are just a point ahead of Cooper’s Swans, who could also go top with a victory over Jason Tindall’s men.

Quizzed on what it was like to play under the Swans boss, Surridge replied: “He’s good. He was good with me when I was there. He trusted me from the off. “He is doing a good job there and they are there or thereabouts in the play-offs. They seem to be doing well this season. “They have a lot of good young players. They will definitely be up there, it’s just if they can keep the consistency they need to.”
