Kyle Joseph injury update 19:31 - Nov 16 with 328 viewsKeithHaynes

Robinson has now revealed that Joseph will remain with United while he returns to fitness.

“We’ve got to wait for a bit of swelling to go down,” said Robinson.

“It’s so complex the injury, to have or not to have surgery, we’ll wait on a second opinion on that.

“It’s coming up soon, when he’ll go to London and have another opinion and another look at it.

“I spoke to Russell [Martin, Swansea head coach] in the week and let him know, I think he was very happy with our medical team and I think he feels that if Kyle wants to stay here for us his rehabilitation, he will.

“We will take control of that from a medical team, but totally guided all along the journey with Swansea.”

Sam Long meanwhile must battle to regain his place in the U’s squad, Robinson said.

United’s boss has been impressed by Djavan Anderson at right back, particularly in the 4-0 win at home to Port Vale.

“Djavan really offered us something that we haven’t had,” said Robinson.

“There’s going to be failings in him because he’s not a natural stay-at-home right back.

“He’s quick and he offers something so different.

“Longy’s trained and did everything, he’s fit but I’ve got to make sure this team finds that fluidity.

“We’re in a good place and we’ve been in a good place the last few weeks.

“At the end of the day, they’re professional athletes so most of our players should be able to cope playing Wednesday and Saturday, and Longy will have to fight to get back into the squad.”

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.
