If you think our ref was dodgy... 21:39 - Jan 1 with 1705 viewsQuakerJack

Today, Darlo were away at Kendal. Fans reporting through that the pitch was a mess... puddles everywhere. Unbelievably it goes ahead on the advice of the ref, only to be abandoned on 16 mins. Apparently the rules state at that level that the ref and his officials will receive their match fee if there is 15 mins or more played in a game.

I can imagine the scenes there. The officials probably needed a police escort to get out of the place...

For what it's worth the only compo Darlo fans are being offered is a free ticket to the replayed game... no refund. Kendal also made a few quid at the bar on the day and of course will do so for the return. Meanwhile, Darlo fans had to make the (albeit pretty short) trip across the A66 on new years day in howling wind and rain, to get soaked for 15 mins of bog football, costing them petrol, ticket and refreshment money.

And it's the second time this has happened to Darlo at Kendal (happened last season).
