It looks like we may have a new manager soon, to be honest I'm personally not that bothered with who it is but more bothered about what they bring as the our current set up and gameplan just doesn't work. The new manager has a job on their hands to develop a more dynamic and progressive style which includes far more attacking threat and variety in possession than we currently have. The new manager will be inheriting a team that is: * Ranked 18th in the league * Ranked 16th on wage bill * Ranked 21st on league attendances * Ranked 10th on squad value (more like 16th when loan players are removed) * Ranked 21st in shots taken * Ranked 24th on touches in opposition box (only 233 all season) * Ranked 4th in possession stats * Ranked bottom in entertainment (based on a recent survey of 15,000+ SCFC fans) My point.....all of the stats above paint a picture of our current standing in the league being about right, the only stat that sticks out and probably the one that proves our current style and tactical plan isn't effective is possession - Busy going nowhere! It's a big task and I would happily sacrifice our position in the possession table if that meant we actually had a fired up team and game plan that could flex system/tactics to compete in every game. Their induction should be straightforward - Points over possession, less backwards & sideways, get the ball forward quicker. | |
