Chaotic team selection, chaotic outcome as R's slip at West Brom - Report
at 14:53 31 Dec 2025

I'm back to thinking team selection is being influenced by "others".

Exhibit A - Paul Smyth Esquire.
It'll be a tough one to argue me out that there's no correlation between his lack of minutes and current Contract posiiton.
Odd he's on the bench if that's the case granted.

Twenty games into the season I'm sorry but I'm done with giving JS any slack.
The Pompey and WBA debacles lay firmly at his door and he needs to shape up sharpish; if he's having his strings pulled then grow some boules.

MONEY!!!

I'd say that was obvious.....

Point of order on some recent musings from some.
It's the second time in a few days I've seen / heard Nico referred to as an "EFL Trevor Brooking"..... come on, we've all had a drink.
He's having an alright season and has done really well on occasions but he's got a long way to go still.

On we go.......

I’m on the record on Varanne but it’s undeniable he’s not playing well ATM

On Kone I totally agree.
Apart from monstering the Charlton centre backs I’m not sure I’ve seen a decent 90 minutes from him. He’s missed easy headers in the six yard box, his stats for shots per minute must be shocking (not on target - just shots) and I feel he goes missing for large parts of games.
However I acknowledge he’s the second best striker we have currently and compared to recent clowns who’ve had the shirt he’s head and shoulders above them. I want to see more of him out muscling right backs and driving into the box, more shots from anywhere that stay hit, more aerial duels won and….. maybe a few goals

Two home games against the bottom two - Six points ???
at 22:36 30 Dec 2025

Big test for the current buzzword for me:-

STANDARDS

Seeing already the “it’s what we do mantra” being trotted out.
Not good enough to accept that, not good enough by far.

100% needed and go into both with the must win attitude

Esquerdinha and his usage

What is JGS available for once a month?

No idea what you’re referring to but it can’t be professional association football at first team level.
He makes Matty Rose look like Hercules.

I’ve no idea how these things work but if possible all parties should be sitting around a table and discussing “career ending insurance”.
Currently his ample wage is nothing but a drain on the club and the ability to plan short and medium term. I’m sorry but his name is edging towards the bin labelled “SWP and other wasters” for me.

Used to listen to a bit of Flex but the two DJs I was most into left and the rest was a bit too Garage and DnB for me.

Quite a long running station

It’s really only for you if “you like that sort of thing”

Esquerdinha and his usage

I think this lad has the total opposite of an inferiority complex - someone said he has Ashby vibes about him and I agree.

My view also is that he’s a wing back so not really suited to the current style.
The ACL to Laka on the eve of the season was a choker for the club and him but should’ve been a real opportunity for Esquerdinha…… sadly so far he’s not grasped it.

In fact, my feeling is he’ll be gone in the summer
(Whispers out of the club fuel my feelings)

35 points after 23 games, what’s the realistic target after 46?
at 08:54 30 Dec 2025

It’ll be 56 to 60 points

We’ll get bored soon and decide it’s time for another doom loop run.
Six defeats in a row will do nicely and back to where we live….. bottom 8 and nervous

Another question I have - do people think Kone will make double figures this season? (That’s goals —- not shots on target)
I’m not seeing it myself.
Every passing week reinforces my feeling he’s out of his depth and/or been played out of position for so long he’s forgotten what being a centre forward is all about

You’d struggle to sell anyone apart from Jimmy Dunne after the last two games.

(Have to say I think Morrison also vindicated my opinion of him tonight — came into the line up, read the game well, kept it simple, made himself available for n the angle at the back, did okay in the air…. I don’t recall any errors??? Fair play Liam)

Seems to me the club has accepted mid table is success.
Infuriating when the play offs were in touching distance in this wildest of wild EFL seasons that we shit the bed and spaff off opportunities. The right approach to the last two fixtures backs up the best 60 mins of the season and top result and gives you that rare commodity….. MOMENTUM. Instead we have a combination of players tossing it off and coaching staff clueless as to how to approach a run of fixtures or make the right changes in game.

I’ll return my focus to making sure we maintain a decent 10 to 12 point buffer to the bottom three.

Standards

Anyone watching this game tonight v WBA not accepting that we need a goalkeeper is quite frankly mental.

A left back would be nice.
Another pacey player up top also sweet as a nut

But we’ve accepted it’s mid table and fcuk the play off push so maybe we’ll do nothing

Disagree with this hugely but do understand your view.

For me Morrison will be a great player but his career will depend who he is partnered with.
At the moment he would be great alongside Dunne or Cook.
Still learning the English game.

He’s one I’d be loaning as has a future

Dunne rescues QPR from more Boxing Day blues – Report
at 10:39 28 Dec 2025

Quality stuff.

I said in the match report that to follow up the Leicester game with that first half and then switch it (slightly) back on for the second tells me many of our players are cheats.
They are cheating us out of effort and the minimum anyone should expect from anyone who pulls on that jersey is 100%

The apathy of our fans pissed me off for years……. Until I succumbed to it myself.
Travelling the country is hard enough, being rewarded with phoned in performances should be met with pitchforks and burning spears. If we as fans accept this “typical QPR” then more fool us.

Always notable for me the attitude of our last truly successful Manager (but of course he did have a decent budget to work with) and how he got maximum buy in from players

You can’t be saying things like that.

There’s nobody connected to the club who goes to less games than Jake Glass Salter.

Kolli injury
at 11:30 27 Dec 2025

I predict his injury will clear up 1st January

He will remain injury free until 31st January when the mystery injury will resurface UNLESS he’s at a different club.

Sad state of affairs as I really do think he could be a player given a run of games and learning.

Handsome Ronnie not even in the Saints squad for their defeat at Oxford today.

Just saying like……

JGS is just an absolute joke now; he’s been in more treatment rooms than an ER Doctor - no idea how long left on his Contract; hopefully not much.
Cook was quite ropey today I thought - last year of Contract.
Morrison seems to have fallen well out of favour (shame as I really rate him) - needs game time on loan maybe.

Signing Ronnie sort of makes a load of sense for next season but looks a bit luxurious for this.
I’d sooner use funds for a goalkeeper and centre mid but would still love it if we signed him and he carried on from where he left off with us
