Considering we are honouring the memory of the Team of 75/6 this season (who l was fortunate enough to see on several occasions) l thought the way we played on Saturday was an affront to football and certainly to that team. Admittedly they never won all their away games but they did try to win them. What l hadn't appreciated beforehand was that Stoke's squad was almost as depleted as ours. Hard won point or not you just can't defend a performance like that.
I agree with your comments about Burnley. Their pace of play, one and two touch football, very few wasted passes and cutting through our defence as if it wasn't there really was a joy to behold. Mainly (and sadly) because it reminded me of how we used to play many years ago and l do feel blessed to have been around to see it.
