Thanks Clive for articulating so well what many of us feel after Thursday.
As a season ticket holder for more than 45 years I tend not to get to up or down after very good or very bad performances as the other extreme will usually follow shortly behind. However, this 'performance' has really pi**ed me off.
I can only think it's because like many I sensed an upward trend as our recent recruitment seemed to bring in the 'right sort' of players and I hoped that as they gelled and developed we would steadily improve. However the matches since Boxing Day and especially Thursday have shown the opposite with players such as Vale, Morgan, Saito, Kone and even Burrell regressing. I can't believe we had a debate on here less than 2 weeks ago if a fit Chair would get back in the team.
I do worry about tomorrow (Sheff Wed 8.6 on Betfair Exchange!) and hope Julien and the team prove me wrong in the second half of the season by performing a positive turnaround from the Christmas debacle but my current expectations are low. |

Terrible defending to concede a corner in the first place. A long ball from the keeper which Cook should have dealt with easily but instead gave away a corner. |

Noticed when Chris Ramsey was involved in coaching he was often sat up high presumably feeding back information to the bench. I’d be surprised and disappointed if we don’t have someone doing a similar job now. [Post edited 14 Dec 2025 18:18]

Spot on Clive once again.
The paragraph that summed it up for me was, ‘ Not like we’re short of options either. Steve Cook sent back out into battle while Liam Morrison doesn’t even make the bench. Rayan Kolli, once again, not selected for the matchday squad against an opponent he terrorised last season. Much like Ipswich at home, I felt like the manager got this all very badly wrong’.
For me, Julien has a much stronger squad than last year but I’m yet to be convinced he is doing a better job than Marti. [Post edited 30 Nov 2025 17:56]

Very sorry to see him go as he will be a huge loss to the Club. Not just as a coach, but the professional way he conducts himself is a great example for our players at all levels. Like others, I suspect office politics played a big part in this decision.
I wish him all the very best for the future. |
