First of all great result for TNS last night, tonight Dundalk and Celtic make it through but Linfield take a beating [don't think many that identify strongly as Welsh or Scottish will be too unhappy at that result].

Domestically Cove Rangers just fall short, interesting who their manager is, wonder if they are going to do some damage in their league this season ?, if I remember right it was said by some that their manager turned down the Cardiff City manager job not that long ago.

Should the original modern Briton Ferry bridge ever been built ?
at 18:48 17 Jul 2019

Sand rabbits I know recon that the Ferry bridge should never have been built as it allowed easier access for Mushers to get across and then all of a sudden there was caravans under the Ferry bridge.

Top marks from me for the Bang tv series, good story line, well acted and Port Talbot was a great location for a hard hitting gritty, earthy crime drama.

In the news this week
at 13:18 22 Jun 2019

The Essex family who moved to North Pembrokeshire to escape the rioting in London and the Greenpeace woman who is living in Powys and came from Lancashire have both been in the news this week, are these two families typical of the people that move to Wales ?

Not passing comment on the two lots in the news but lots of the English that are coming to rural Wales seem to be Greens, middle class drop outs looking for the 'Good life', I think they think that we are more British than where they came from, - hmm there again we are, lol.

Snowflakes
at 12:00 22 Jun 2019

Snowflakes seem to come in various forms, the long haired save the planet vegan luvvie types and the middle class liberal types who take offence on other peoples behalf, often when there is no offence in the first place, the sad thing is the amount of snowflakes seem to be increasing, you see it on message boards with snowflakes demanding certain people get banned for Porthcawl, the laugh is those message boards that do ban people for no reason at the snowflakes behest than end up as an echo chamber of like minded snowflakes.

Well done Ashleigh Barty

Well done Ashleigh Barty, i'm sure Evonne Goolagong along with the rest of Australia will be delighted, first Aussie winner of the French Open since Margaret Court.
Young Vondrousova will probably have further opportunities in the future [although that is not a given].

Killing Eve series 2
at 13:16 8 Jun 2019

Killing Eve series 2 starts tonight on the beeb, I think Jodie Comer is brilliant, her accents and mannerisms make her a superb actress, I seen her in something called 'Thirteen' and she was excellent in that as well.

Anybody watch 'The Virtues' , all very plausible unfortunately, the luvvies rave about Shaun Meadows and ive seen this show called a masterpiece, to me its very much the same style as 'This is England' film and the different series spin offs of this over the years.

Peterborough

What to make of the Peterborough by-election ?

My thoughts were that it was a poor set of results for everybody, how can that be ?, surely things should balance out between a good result for some parties and a bad result for others but it seems to me to be a bad result for all the parties which go's against the normal balance of things, amazing.
Labour lost a huge amount of votes/vote share and they are the official opposition fighting an unpopular Government in a mid term by-election.
The Tories lost a huge amount even more votes/vote share than Labour, with the by-election called because the sitting Labour MP was jailed and the official opposition party currently very unpopular.
The Brexit party was expected to win by many, the area had a high leave vote and the sitting MP had been jailed, so if they were unable to win that seat under FPTP they will struggle to win any seats at all.
The Lib-Dem vote went up from a pathetic showing last time but still they only recorded 12% of the vote, I expected better, not a good sign for their hopes in any General Election.
The Greens had a bad night imo with a poor percentage of the vote, I expected better.

I'm struggling to see who it was a good result for looking at the overall picture with the next General Election in mind, nothing to do with who I vote for and as mad as it sounds but it could be viewed as a good result for SNP/Plaid although they don't stand in England as all those parties in the Peterborough by-election seemed one way or another to do badly.

Its been noted by some that we are on the same side as Al Qaeda, ISIS ect or at least have the same enemy as them so have the same aims of regime change in places like Syria, Iraq, Libya etc

Seen Batigol linked with the Swans the other week, he is an absolute legend, is there any merit to the rumour ?, he has not managed before but all the same are the Swans big enough for him if he was looking to get into management ?
