I saw them at the Brixton Academy in the late 80s when they were touring with the Taxi Gang. It was their label, and they were part of the backing band but what was eye-popping was a 20 minute session in the middle featuring just those two playing some kind of amazing fusion of reggae, dub, jazz and soul. About 35 years later, I saw them again at the Jazz Cafe this time playing with Nils Petter Molvær (Nordic jazz trumpet) and some bloke playing around live with an entire mixing desk. Stunning. I actually bumped into Robbie after the show - he was having a smoke outside. I said hello and got to shake his hand. Legends the pair of them. RIP :-( |

Yeah, I occasionally have a look at threads like that when I'm not logged in just out of curiosity. After reading the first couple of sentences from the offending posts I go straight into logged in/ignore on mode. Life really is too short. |

It would be interesting to see the stats for the 1st half vs the 2nd. From where I was standing (Lower Loft), Wrexham were barely able to lay a glove on Rangers for the entire 1st half. They were reduced to lumping the occasional hopeful but useless ball forward. The second half seemed to be almost a complete mirror image of the first. I did wonder if we'd rue all those missed chances in the first 45. |

The last game I saw live was Norwich at home. Struggling with the idea of getting myself down there for this one...... |

 | Forum Reply | And we never spoke of it again – Report at 09:35 19 Jan 2026
I watched the first few minutes then decided to switch to listening so I could get on with some chores. Namely re-felting the roof of my log store. Which was marginally more exciting than the game. Still, a point away and all that. And a furious Stoke fan venting at me yesterday on another message board. That cheered me right up. |

When I landed in London in 1988 I spent the first decade in Hammersmith and Ladbroke Grove. Then the next decade in Kensal Rise. I guess I'm old school and you just have to support your local team. Not that I did a huge amount about it other than reading the match reports in the Standard. It was when my son was born that I met another dad who was a big fan. I started going with him and his mates and I just haven't stopped since. Where's the category for kidnapped? [Post edited 18 Jan 20:56]

As Churchill once said, "If you stop drinking, you don't actually live longer. It just feels like you do". |

Well when I say "buses" I really mean I occasionally use the 52 on game days as I can get get from Willesden to Ladbroke Grove on in it. BUT London buses are insanely slow these days so it's not raining I'll usually just get a £6 Lime Pass and use one of their bikes to get there and back. So much quicker and a great way way to get about. |

I'm still working and use mine all the time in London during the working week and over weekends. Tubes, trains (OverGround/Thameslink/Lizzie Line) and buses. I like having it, of course, but, really it should be means tested and given to those (young, minimum wage, unemployed) who actually need it. |

Chuck Jones is an absolute legend. Only on here would the Road Runner get rolled into a match report :-) |

I agree with all the equivalence as to whether this really fits the buying/selling model and whether thee money could have been better spent on other positions. BUT In his loan spell he was a solid defender and, more importantly, would often move the ball forward very quickly and decisively out from the back. This time (injuries notwithstanding) he'll have more options when he does that. Should be fun. |

For the first time in living memory I managed to get my wife and daughter to join me and my son for this one. Amazingly, it's rekindled an interest in QPR in them and they both definitely want to come back! I offered them my seat for Sunday....:-) |

The transformation has been quite astonishing. And long may it continue - I hope his WBA injury wasn't too serious as I really want to see him starting against Norwich. |

That's how I saw it. Hoping for another decent performance at home on Thursday with something approaching a full strength squad |
