Swans Fined £1000 For Shrewsbury Game

Swans and Shrews Fined £1000

Both Swansea City and Shrewsbury Town have been fined £1000 for failing to control their players after a hearing at St Andrews, Birmingham this morning.

The two clubs were called before the FA following the match in November - which Shrewsbury won 2-0 - after both Garry Monk and Andy Robinson saw red before half time. Monk felt he had been aggrieved by the decision at the time and sat out a lengthy ban as a result of his own actions.

The club will not be appealing the decision and will pay the fine to bring an end to the matter.

Meanwhile, BBC are reporting that defender Sam Ricketts has a hernia injury but it is hoped that he will be fit for the visit of Rochdale and also the Wales game a week on Saturday.

We must manage him properly and give him the right rehabilitation to get him through the season," Swansea manager Kenny Jackett told BBC Sport Wales.
