Swansea had to settle for a draw at the Liberty Stadium thanks to a second half Wednesday equaliser

It was not really what the Swans deserved after they had the better of the 90 minutes and certainly the better of the chances.

Ferrie Bodde had given the Swans the lead with a long range shot in the first half and they threatened on numerous times to increase that lead but it was not to be.  And when Steve Watson rose in front of Garry Monk to head the equaliser, Wednesday's poor 1300 support were happy as the lappy chavs decided to run across the netting.

It meant the Swans stayed in 7th place heading into the intenational break although it could have been better.

As expected, Roberto kept with an unchanged side from that which faced Plymouth last weekend, meaning that midweek goal heroes Gorka Pintado and Jordi Gomez both had to make do with a place on the bench.   Andrea Orlandi was drafted into the matchday squad at the expense of Guillem Bauza.

Swansea had the better of the early exchanges with Pratley continuing from where he left off last weekend - that being full of running and always looking for space.   Ferrie Bodde stamped an early authority on the midfield with a couple of strong challenges and the Swans were up and running.

Butler and Gower were willing outlets as they looked to utilise the width as possible although Jason Scotland up front seemed to be off the pace for long periods of the first half.

Ferrie had already tried to test the keeper with a couple of long range efforts before he opened the scoring ten minutes before half time.  Picking the ball up midway in the Wednesday half, he ran forward and unleashed a 25 yard drive that gave Glover no hope and the Swans the lead.   The 15400 Swans fans in the ground were happy and the Swans were potentially heading towards win number 5 on the bounce.

And for the remaining ten minutes they were well on top and looked for a while as if they may double their lead but it wasn't to be.

The second half started with much the same pattern.  Dorus was not really being tested in the Swansea goal and whatever danger was around at time was being easily dealt with by him and his defenders.

Ashley Williams looked to have doubled the Swans advantage but he saw his header coming back off the woodwork - as Mark Gower had done in the first half.

Pintado was brought on for Scotland and immediately had an impact with a strong run that was only just cleared by the increasingly desperate Wednesday defenders.

As Brian Laws looked to change things with his substitutes it seemed to unsettle Swansea and almost immediately the visitors were level.  And it was one of the substitutes that got it.   Steve Watson sneaked in front of Garry Monk was Tudgay crossed from the Wednesday right and his downward header gave Dorus no chance to bring Wednesday level with 20 minutes to play.

The Swans hit back and should have sealed victory.    First Garry Monk headed wide when gifted with a free header six yards out and then Gorka Pintado did the same from just about the same spot from a Mark Gower cross.   Two golden chances and you would have backed at least one of them to have found the net.

At the other end Swansea were all of a sudden shaky and gave away a few needless corners to lift the anxiety amongst the support.

Febian Brandy was a late introduction for Tom Butler and he too had the chance to seal it in stoppage time but his header agonisingly hit the outside of the post.

The final whistle sounded with the points shared but we can probably feel slightly hard done by not to have won but four games in, a very encouraging start and two weeks to recharge before we start again at Crystal Palace.

Enjoyable afternoon again at the Liberty.
