Warnock: We Fully Deserved Our Win

Neil Warnock on his side's 3-1 win at the Liberty Stadium yesterday

He said after the game "It was always going to be hard against a top side that had only lost once at home, But you can't help but play football on such a superb pitch. A bit of quality from Victor Moses put us in front and we went on from there.  It is good experience for the young lads at a place like this. They may not have played if we had won in midweek like we should but these things come about like this and they did well.

"There were some great moments for us. Julian Speroni made a match winning save when it was 2-1, Anthony Stokes never gave it up on the back post when he was waiting for his header which helped get us the second goal and Shefki Kuqi deserved to get a goal for all his efforts. I don't think I have seen a player work as hard as he did today.

"You either let them have the ball and defend or have a go at them and put pressure on and that's what we did and we fully deserved the victory. It was a good team performance and it had to be to beat such a good side.

"We are in a transition period at the club, money is tight and we have to go with the kids but it is a challenge and we showed today what we can do against a top side. I am going to have to make drastic changes to the squad and hopefully take advantage of some signings and we will see how things go from there. I have some great youngsters at the club who I want to give a chance to and if they can get eight or nine games before the end of the season they can only learn from that. Apart from those we have already put in the team I have another couple who I want to give a game to in the next few weeks which will help us prepare for what we want to do next season. At my age I haven't got many seasons left and I want to be in the play offs so it is frustrating where we are at the moment."
