Lee Trundle believes that the Swans can go all the way to the Premiership

The former Swansea City striker was an unused substitute on the weekend as his Bristol City team went down by a goal to nil against the Swans at the Liberty.

That result effectively ended Bristol City's season with them mathematically unable to break into the Top 6 come the end of the season.

But Trundle says he has seen enough of the Swans this season to know that if they did break into the play offs they could go all the way to the promised land and he said “I’ve seen Swansea a few times now and I don’t think anyone who’s watched them could say they haven’t been impressed

“The football Roberto has got them playing is superb; when you see them in action you can see every single player knows their job.

“Everyone knows what the player next to him is thinking – they’re all on the same wavelength and know what they have to do.

“And after beating us they’re back on a high and will be confident going into these last couple of games.

“It’s two games they have to probably win and starting at Sheffield United is obviously going to be tough. But there’s no reason why they can’t go and do it.

“From what I’ve seen there’s no doubt they’re good enough, and that’s not just to get into the play-offs – but to go on and win them.

“We (Bristol) were 90 minutes away from doing it in out first year at this level and now Swansea have shown they have what it takes to get there.

“They’ve two big games and if they get to the play-offs then they have a great chance of going all the way.

“Not many sides play the kind of football and with the confidence they do.

“The final is a huge occasion, the wide pitch would suit them and the number of fans they’d bring would show they are ready for the Premier.

“Obviously, I don’t have great memories of Wembley after last year – but I’d be there in the stands rooting for them 100%.

“It always seems to be the way with Swansea that it has to go down to the wire, but I’m sure the fans would have taken that right back at the start of the season.

“This is the first season in the Championship for them and just to challenge for the top six is a huge achievement, no matter what happens in the next couple of weeks.

“They might have to wait for Burnley – or someone else – to slip but perhaps we can do Swansea a favour on the last day.

“And if they get there they would deserve it.”
