Brendan Rodgers paid tribute to Darren Pratley after the midfielder fired the Swans into 2nd place

Rodgers told the official Swansea website "It was a fantastic goal by Darren,

"It was a clever move to get Angel free at the back post. It looked an easy finish, but if you look at it again on the replays then he displayed great technique and power.

"He is the ultimate pro and the players love him here. I'm really happy for him because he's had a bit of stick of late.

"But it's very important in life to feel valued and he was excellent today. That goal will do wonders for him.

"He is a wonderful pro, he wanted to sign a new contract in the summer, but for whatever reason it didn't happen.

"As a player I can't ask any more of him. He's a good guy, doesn't give me any problems and works hard. And as a manager it's my job to support him.''
