Monk - We Want To Be Remembered
Tuesday, 15th Sep 2015 06:19 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

One of the things that the Swans have done since we arrived in the Premier League is to make people sit up and make notice and because of the way that we have gone about our business we have picked up plaudits from around the world.

It is not just the style on the pitch that makes people enjoy what they see but the way that the club is run off the pitch achieving the climb from the bottom of the leagues without risking the club's future.

If you look back at the last transfer window then it was Swansea who spent the least money out of any Premier League club, spending under £10m in transfer fees when the top end clubs were ten times that or even more.

And despite last Saturday's set back at Watford it has been an excellent start for the Swans to a fifth season in the top flight with Garry Monk now starting to be linked with other jobs thanks to the excellent job he is doing at Swansea.

That is something that has been consistent in the club for almost ten years now with Roberto Martinez and Brendan Rodgers both getting excellent reputations at Swansea before moving onto other jobs.

And Monk admits that he wants us to be remembered because of what he is doing "I want us to win games and I am trying to make it entertaining.

"I want my teams to be remembered. I want the teams who play for me to be remembered for good things.

"We are not here just to accept being average or mediocre and to just get through.

"We are here to be remembered because of our achievements.

"I think we did that last year and we will try to do the same again this year."
