The media have reported that Hull City have finally accepted a bid from the Swans in the region of £15m for their midfielder Sam Clucas who is expected to complete a move to the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday.

The Swans have been in the market for Clucas since Gylfi Sigurdsson completed his record transfer to Everton last week and will close in on our own purchase record to make the midfielder the first signing since the sale was completed of the Icelandic international.

The reports suggest that the deal could be worth as much as £16.5m although some of that is expected to be in add-ons with a £15m fee being agreed between the two clubs.

Lincoln-born Clucas joined Hull from Chesterfield for £1.3m in July 2015 and scored nine goals in 96 appearances.

Burnley were also in the hunt for the midfielder and had a bid turned down last wee but the Swans have moved in and secured our man. Part of the deal is reported to be Stephen Kingsley going in the opposite direction with some reports suggesting that it is a loan deal and some suggesting a permanent one.
