The Swans got their first shots on target in the Premier League this season and made them count as Tammy Abraham scored his first league goal for the club and Jordan Ayew added a second as we recorded a victory on the road to head into the international break on the back of a win.
Abraham was on hand to steer home Leroy Fer's cross just before the interval to give the Swans the lead after a pretty uneventful first half to get his first league goal of the season. Fresh from his first Swans goal in midweek, Abraham looked the predator we need him to be as he capitalised on a defensive hesitation from Martin Kelly.
And it was Kelly who effectively presented the Swans with the second shortly after the break when he conceded cheap possession to Kyle Naughton who fed Jordan Ayew with a perfect pass and after a rebound off Wayne Hennessey, Ayew doubled the Swans lead with a simple tap in.
The home team looked a side that was devoid of confidence on many levels and the Swans capitalised on that with a confident display after they scored the first.
Defensively we do continue to look solid at the back and a second clean sheet of the season is a big positive at the moment. Since the arrival of Paul Clement we have seen a superb partnership building between Mawson and Fernandez which has been a big factor in our relative success.
With a league debut for Sam Clucas after his midweek move from Hull and a return to the starting line up for Mike Van Der Hoorn, Paul Clement went with the same formation that looked more solid for him last week.
Abraham's first goal resulted in some praise from Chelsea fans as you would imagine...
Frank De Boer had described this as a "must win" game for his side and now has some big work to do in the international break thanks to his side losing their first three games of the season whilst Paul Clement will take his side into the break with four points on the board.
With a few days to go now until the transfer window closes the success of the early part of the season will be judged by our final moves in the window but a result like today has reduced the pressure slightly, although not taking our need away to get some new players in.
