Rhys Williams ready to return to Liverpool,
Saturday, 15th Jan 2022 19:32 by Keith Haynes

News has reached us that Swansea City loanee Rhys Williams is set to leave west Wales to return to Liverpool. Rhys wasn’t involved in today’s game against Huddersfield and didn’t travel with the squad.

It has been a frustrating time for the tall Liverpool defender who played nineteen games last season for the first team. Nine in the premier league. Russell Martin has made it clear certain players will be leaving the club. Jay Fulton has received offers but they don’t match his Swansea salary so he has turned them down. Martin is very keen for him to leave. Jake Bidwell who hasn’t played for some weeks is close to joining Coventry although Preston and Birmingham would still like him. Yan Dhanda as well, he is yet to receive anything firm.

With these four players out of the club the swans would make a saving in the region of a hundred thousand pounds a month which would go some way to energising the salary coffers for new players to come in. We believe another four players, all being well, could be brought in to the club by the end of this month.
