Plenty of Swansea City transfer interest across the leagues and beyond
Friday, 6th May 2022 08:00 by David Cornish @Cornish67David

Swansea City are being linked with numerous players already and there’s still a game to go in the championship. There is a shortened season which starts again on July 31st, but leading up to that June will be a time for firming up contracts, and July the time to announce who the swans have signed.

Marcus Harness is one of several players the swans are interested in, the Portsmouth winger is now twenty six and will definitely want to speak to interested clubs this summer. His contract concludes at Pompey at the end of June but there is a one year trigger option for the right sided player. Now in the age bracket where a decent three year contract will serve him well during his prime years as a professional, this link is definitely accurate. He has scored thirty three goals in one hundred and seven games for Portsmouth and is noted for his pace and ability to score goals. With his contract in limbo he could be secured for a lower than normal fee.

We will keep an eye on this one.

The other rather bizarre link is Matthew Sorinola who is currently playing at left back for Belgian ‘First Division A’ club Royale Union Saint-Gilloise. His contract has a long way to run, in fact another two years and is a prized asset in Belgium. His experience is limited with only thirty four appearances last season for MK Dons and thirteen so far in Belgium. His manager Felice Mazzù has denied any interest other than rumour and has said no offers are pending for the player. However, what we do know over time running this website that the player and manager are sometimes near the bottom of the food chain when these deals are worked out. Ask Joel Piroe. So, based on that any denial should be taken with a pinch of salt. Indeed the link is obviously due to Sorinola’s time at MK Dons. Glasgow Rangers we understand have held an interest in the player in recent times.

An update we did get today, and to be it has to be expected is that Swansea City have received no inquiries either directly or indirectly for the growing number of players set to leave the club this summer. Some will say that the season isn’t over yet, however if a club is ready release players then approaches between agents is always going to happen.

We will keep you updated on Swansea City news every day as we always have done since September 2020.
