Swansea City transfer latest this Sunday evening
Sunday, 28th Aug 2022 19:28 by Keith Haynes

It has to be pretty much a certainty that players will be leaving Swansea City this week and the prime movers are ‘rumoured’ to be Olivier Ntcham, Joel Piroe and Jamie Paterson. The latter we have questioned already with the explanations from Russell Martin regards Paterson’s injury somewhat blurry. Especially now it’s the transfer window.

Of course we are not saying Martin has lied, but he has a canny way of answering questions in press briefings as we have seen many times already. His only real response (of late) was his revelation it was something Paterson had suffered from before, and he had seen a specialist. Work out what you want from that explanation.

The certainty that there are players now coming in will be met with some delight by Swansea City fans, Luke Cundle the young Wolves player held talks with Swansea representatives and Preston in midweek and it now seems the twenty year old has agreed to sign for the swans for the rest of the season. Preferably his signing will take place by Tuesday to enable him to be selected for the first team against Stoke City on Wednesday.

Well, you would hope so.

Those talks were revealed on here last week and then reported on FL72. Read that here –> Luke Cundle

Whether the cash in reserve stretches to the addition of West Ham paceman Anderson Ono-Flex is anyones guess after this latest revelation on Cundle by Ian Mitchelmore on Wales in Line. However, the swans desperately need young blood and a more energetic supply to the frontline of Michael Obafemi and Joel Piroe. That is if the swans can fend off late bids for the Dutchman. Things are so fluid at this time of year, and answers are not readily available despite everyone wanting them on a plate. We have done okay though in the last with this site accurately reporting the arrival of Hannes Wolf, Joel Piroe and Andrew Fisher over the last twelve months. It’s hard to call at times and despite us trying to explain what processes we go through to reach these decisions to report news, a few remain either confused or not able to grasp the concepts. We will clear that up with some excellent references in the coming week as we celebrate two years of Swansea Independent.

Leave that one to us.

On sources, we did speak with a long time supporter of the site this afternoon, but the news was as expected really. That’s all of Swansea City’s players are for sale, no matter who they are. So we may as well have mentioned the whole squad at the start along with the three we have. There is speculation that Dan Williams if fit will possibly leave on loan now that Cundle at least is almost certain to come in. On Anderson Ono-Flex it was pointed out to us today by a well connected journalist that it comes as no surprise that the young player is connected to Swansea. Chewing over the finances, which are not peanuts the suggestion that a deduction from the next instalment for Flynn Downes could well be a part of the negotiation to get Anderson in as well.

As Martin has already stated on players “It’s probably going to be really young because of the finance we have which is not very much. If we end up doing something, it will be something that ‘works for us’ because of the cost of it. For the market we're in, there's not going to be any more experienced players. It will be more young guys, I expect, that will come in and we'll have to try and help develop them very quickly." You really have to challenge yourself when these statements are made by Martin, and analyse what he is really saying.

The Downes connection does make sense.

But remember, we could say nothing, we could just sit here within our secret firewall as some do and offer conjecture and ridicule towards those people who offer a website such as this, open and easily contactable. Our speculation at times comes to nothing, but these are conversations with other informed people who we trust and know - in some cases personally. So take it with whatever you like, sweeteners, sugar, even salt. But we will manage our conversations as we like on here so you who follow us in your thousands can enjoy these times be they up or down. It’s what reporting is all about, and we know it works.

It’s a huge week ahead for Swansea City, and there is one certainty. It won’t be quiet. Thanks for your continued support, we go from strength to strength.

You might want to amend your piece. I think his name is Armstrong Oko-Flex.
