Watford v Swansea City : Latest & Team News Wednesday, 5th Oct 2022 17:11 by @Cornish67David Watford manager Slaven Bilić has his first experience of the atmosphere at Vicarage Road as the hornets new boss tonight. Russell Martin hasn’t taken his Swansea side to Watford before and will be well advised to have noted the huge threat his defence will face in this championship fixture. Jamie Paterson, Liam Cullen and Liam Walsh are out. Sources are stating to us that Joe Allen won’t start the game if at all as he isn’t one hundred percent fit, however we have heard this line from inside the Swansea camp before and then later seen a change of heart. If Joe Allen does play it will be an extremely late decision and we here at Swansea Independent doubt that he will. The real issue for Martin is the lethal attack Watford have and containing them as much as trying to win the game. With Kyle Naughton fit after his injury on Saturday we could see him start, but as we have reported this week Harry Darling has been utilised in a variety of strategic roles in training as have Michael Obafemi and Joel Piroe. Swansea won’t fancy a rear guard action this evening, that could prove extremely difficult. Especially with a defence that albeit has shown slight improvement recently is still shaky under pressure. The game kicks off at 7.45pm at Vicarage Road and the team news will appear on this page at 6.45pm UK time The game is on the sky sports red button and LIVE commentary can be heard on Talk Sport.
