Swansea City LIVE on TV this weekend : Swans support increasing dramatically down east !
Tuesday, 4th Apr 2023 16:31 by @Cornish67David

Both Fridays game against Coventry City ( Home 3pm ) and Mondays at Wigan Athletic ( Away 3pm ) will be covered by Sky TV this weekend. The matches will be on the Sky Sports red button 🔴 After two consecutive wins Swans fans will be hoping for more of the same as they first take on Coventry City with play off aspirations and then Wigan Athletic who are fighting to stay in the Championship.

Swansea City will have to go on some impressive run to claw back those who see little future in Russell Martin at the club, however, they still seem to be in the minority leading in to this weekend. Fridays game is heading towards a sell out and Wigan away has seen a very impressive take up on tickets with many more likely to be sold on Friday afternoon. The away support this season it has to be said and the younger age groups which are travelling from right across Wales is increasing dramatically. Speaking to a contact at the club we are told that far more tickets are going to east Wales to young people, as is the take up in that area on season tickets for next season. “We have seen a tremendous increase in support for the club in the east of the country were once you would expect Cardiff to be in the majority. That is definitely no longer the case, what we are seeing are those young kids who saw the Swans on Match of the Day for many years in the Premier League when they were growing up now wanting to see their team in the flesh. The take up in towns across east Wales has been phenomenal”

Swans fans support is increasing and the support amongst young people is ‘phenomenal’

That’s the good news and the feel good factor after completing the double / double against Cardiff City is filling Swansea followers with optimism. Regardless of the criticism Martin is receiving at times it’s clear the majority owners are very much behind his vision for the playing side of the team as we hear an agreed budget for the summer is on the table. We believe this very much relies upon the sale of Morgan Whittaker and the completion of Michael Obafemi leaving the club for Burnley where he is currently on loan.

We hope to get some indication of the potential budget in the coming weeks.

For now Swans fans had better get a hurry up on to get tickets for Fridays game against Coventry City as it’s fast approaching 650 left. More on this game and the build up for Wigan later.
