Player connected to Swansea City confirmed as wholly inaccurate
Sunday, 29th Jun 2025 21:45 by Keith Haynes

There have been reports today of a midfield player called Gabi Kanichowsky (27) a free agent after leaving Maccabi Tel Aviv with his contract up at the club. At last we thought that the person reporting this, one Tom Coleman of Wales On Line had come up with some credible information.

This led us to speak with two contacts who have strong links with the UK agency CAA Base and then to an individual with an Israeli contact regards Kanichowsky. With the sources permission we enabled proper collection of the information on Kanichowsky. First of all, the Swans haven’t inquired nor have they ever had any interest in this player. He is considered as of more value to a club in League One, quite simply he is of no interest to Swansea City. We were told that Swansea City do not sign players that aren’t better than they already have in the squad. Well, we knew that anyway. Why this name has surfaced we do not know, but when our contacts say ‘Who’ followed up with a snigger you get the feeling someone is pulling a leg they haven’t properly researched or investigated. Neither have they utilised their journalistic ‘experience’ to confirm or deny what apparently is in front of them.

For Swans fans to have the rug pulled from beneath them when they are given the golden hope of players coming in is one thing, all the rumours that certain outlets have reported we have dispelled when they were not true. We pride ourselves on one of the more unusual ways of gathering evidence, it’s in the blood. We’ve done that without anyone connected to Swansea City involved. Wales On Line as many of you know by now have repeated those reports by us without crediting this site. That annoys us as they are taking away views on this site which is turned into money for the brain tumour charity. Their rejections of our legal complaint to be professional and credit this site have been disregarded by Wales On Line Editor, David James with some of the most absurd and ill informed responses that even a child could see through.

So, on this occasion like there has been so many times this year we again respond.

Putting a player into the frame for a transfer to Swansea City that nobody has any interest in, nor ever heard of is poor journalism, and at best an attempt to start a rumour where there is none. Again, Gabi Kanichowsky is not coming to Swansea. We move onto Ethan Galbraith, he is currently at Leyton Orient and was the subject of a panicked phone call from then Chairman, Andrew Coleman in the last hours of the last transfer window. The first outlet to mention the price offered was Swansea Independent. Initially we stated one million pounds but were then corrected and told it was £750,000. Football Insider also confirmed this, but now it crops up in a report from Wales On Line today. No mention of the source who can prove this offer was accurate, just another takeaway without credit.

Ethan Galbraith is still at Leyton Orient because the club want a whole load of cash the Swans and every other club interested won’t pay. Today’s report in Wales On Line is conjecture that the Swans have revisited the O’s defender. Yes, he is a player that the club really do admire and would like in the squad for the coming season. The fact no bid has been made is another clue, we have been told as long as the figure for Galbraith is stacked far too high then there will be no movement on Galbraith coming to Swansea. Oh, by the way, CAA Base as a coincidence are also this players agency. It’s hard work that makes you a good journalist not just crossing your fingers that everything is right.

Accept nothing, Believe nothing and Challenge everything. And then start your work.

We genuinely believe that Ethan Galbraith will surface during the coming month and it will be Swansea in the news, but really to find out this stuff you really do need to have a track record in what has gone before. It is our intention to provide Swansea City followers the very best and well researched news, it’s not about being first but as we have seen today the desire to be just that has backfired.

Thanks for supporting Swansea Independent, and in turn our charity.
