Of course we all want the Swans to win every game but there will those who leave Sincil Bank tomorrow happy with a point. That’s how big a test this is for Vitor Matos and his Swansea City side this weekend.

It will be twenty one days before the Swans next play another game. The extended international break has put paid to any common sense with a complete shut down of the Premier League and ÉFL Championship. We say that because initially this was to be be the onky Internarional break pre Christmas. However there will be another, albeit shorter one in November. That wasn’t the initial plan. With three international trophies to play for, this time around the Nations League and to come the Euros then another spate of World Cup qualification games club fixtures seem to be taking a backward step unless of course we are talking about the top club sides in Europe, that matters.

Tomorrow without Eom, Ross Stewart and Josh Key for definite the Swans have the strength in depth to take on any Championship club this season. Gonçalo Franco is back and displayed his love for playing football for Swansea City when he had an impactive substitute appearance last week against Burnley. That’s a big bonus and provides extra energy to Vitor’s press for this game.

The desire of course is to win and maintain second spot if West Ham do beat Millwall in the early kick off. However, that’s not guaranteed which makes this league so special. If they slip up a win would leave the Swans potentially in top spot.
