Swans v Blackburn News : Plus Key, Walta, Injuries & Ticket News
Wednesday, 28th Oct 2026 16:31 by Liam Walters & Keith Haynes

The Swans have one home game left at home before the international break taking on Blackburn Rovers this Saturday (3pm) Theresfter it’s two trios, one to Portsmouth the following Tuesday and then at Birmingham thereafter (3pm) The Birmingham City game has been sold out for Swans fans for three weeks.

⚽️ Ticket update : As it stands around forty tickets remain from the away allocation for Portsmouth on Tuesday night. No tickets will be made available for Birmingham City although it is worth checking on our forum for late cancellations. Tickets for Blackburn Rovers remain on sale for Saturday, the majority in the south stand.

⚽️ Blackburn Rovers Latest : Blackburn Rovers will be without suspended midfielder Sam Morsy for Saturday’s visit to Swansea City after his fifth league booking. Ryoya Morishita and Mathias Jørgensen are also expected to miss out, with Morishita facing several weeks on the sidelines and Jørgensen nursing a thigh injury. Adam Forshaw remains unavailable ahead of hip surgery, while Lewis Miller continues his recovery from an Achilles rupture. Todd Cantwell remains available but is one booking away from suspension.

Kristi Montgomery could return after missing the Wrexham match as a precaution, while Yuki Ohashi and Yuri Ribeiro have resumed parts of training and could be considered for the bench. None has yet been confirmed fit. Matty Litherland is also rebuilding fitness following a pre-season back injury: Mowbray confirmed on 12 October that he had avoided surgery and resumed light group training, but his availability for Swansea remains unconfirmed.

The Swans should remember too that Rovers come with the most experienced manager in the Championship by quite a way, and he has got them playing some lovely stuff.

⚽️ Swansea City Latest : Swansea City are set to face Blackburn Rovers on Saturday without wingers Ronald and Moussa Yeo. Ronald is out for six to eight weeks with a hamstring injury identified after the West Ham match, with Vitor Matos confirming the Brazilian felt discomfort after the game. Yeo’s scan also revealed a hamstring problem, expected to sideline him for two to three weeks. Their absence leaves Eom Ji-sung and Manchester City loanee Jeremy Monga among the alternatives out wide. Monga was included in the squad at QPR but did not feature.

Josh Key has resumed parts of team training as he recovers from his own hamstring injury, but his availability for Blackburn has yet to be confirmed. Cameron Burgess also remains sidelined. Filip Lissah has completed his one-match suspension and returned against QPR, while Stephen Eustaquio has already made his comeback from a shoulder problem. Ross Stewart is fit again, with his omission against West Ham attributed to squad selection under the homegrown player rules rather than another injury. Stephen Welsh is receiving treatment this week but has attended Fairwood.

⚽️ Contractual News : To reafirm the loan details of Leo Walta to Los Angeles FC. The agreement with a loan fee was to cover his contract up until January 2027. There are no triggers within the agreement for Swansea City to recall Walta besides if both clubs agree to switch. The conditions of his loan are as described plus an agreement to discuss a permanent move in January. There are no triggers within the loan agreement to purchase Walta. We understand any move to the USA will include Los Angeles FC taking over all of his Swansea contract leaving the Swans with nothing to pay. That will be negotiated for January.

Bearing in mind the recruitment of Walta and the time it occured … there has been little mentioned of his desire to move to the USA permanently. What we do know is that he is open to staying at Swansea City and at no point has he fallen out with nor had any issues with head coach Vitor Matos. That is confirmed. If possible his ambitions remain at Swansea City.

⚽️ Player contracts : No player has specifically entered into face to face contract talks with Swansea City. That rarely happens until signing the agreement. There are mentions of certain players about to renew contracts due to them running out in 2027. The focus of the club is to have in place offers as soon as is possible but nothing is agreed as yet. (28/10/2026) An example is Josh Key who is keen to renew his contract which runs out in June 2027. The Swans have already triggered a one year option last year. The expectation is that a new deal will be offered but as yet nothing has been agreed or concluded.

Up to date with this great report! Without a doubt, the opposition will have plenty of key absences so it'll be interesting to see their game plan. I'm hoping we can win this match in convincing fashion, and Monga making his debut is what I'm most excited about. As for the contracts, I hope Key's situation gets sorted out without any issues—I think he's a good player who provides excellent squad depth.

I'd love to start with this 11: Vigoroux; Lissah, Steel, Welsh, Tymon; Eustáquio, Franco; Eom, Monga, Opoku; Vipi. Aggressive and dynamic!
