Swans can rise to just three points from the play offs Friday, 20th Feb 2026 18:01 by Liam Walters Austrian, Gerhard Struber brings his Bristol City side to the swansea.com tomorrow lunchtime with an indifferent track record of late, but still in the play off picture. They meet a Swans side who have grabbed the season by the throat since the arrival of head coach, Vitor Matos. This evening we take a step back with tickets still remaining for this fixture. A win for the Swans will see them just three points outside of the play offs with others to play later on in the afternoon and the Sheffield derby on Sunday. Tonight is another derby fixture between Preston North End and Blackburn Rovers.(8pm) ![]() It’s a difficult game and bar the white flag being waved by Darren O’Dea at Ashton Gate for the away fixture - just after Alan Sheehan was sacked, they are generally very close encounters. The last six fixtures bar that November nonsense have been close. That tells us the Swans need to seize upon the chances they will inevitably make. ![]() Of course Adam Idah (below) is out and it looks like another month will pass before the Swans feel comfortable to get him back into gradual training. That is if the initial diagnosis and reports are a correct. Zeidane Inoussa is also out as is Marko Stamenić under a two game ban for ten yellow cards this season. The only information we have is that Ethan Galbrwith ‘could’ be moved from his right back position to play a deeper role with Stamenić out. Jay Fulton we are certain will be involved after Vitor stated this week, “I love what Jay brings, he has a lot of values that we all want as a club and he has a lot of qualities as a player. I like a lot how he attacks, how he understands the game is unbelievable. He is a real leader, he is widely respected by everyone at the club, so let’s see. The beauty of being a head coach is that you can pick eleven players, and when you have good options you cannot make a mistake.” Every head coach since relegation to the Championship has stuck with Jay, Russell Martin for a few months wanted to get rid of him. The club tried but with Jay on such high money, and despite three clubs interested none of them could bust his fifteen thousand pounds a week salary. That has paid off for the Scotsman who is now at the swansea.com until 2028. Harry Cornick has returned to the Robins from his on loan spell at Stevenage Borough, not for good reasons though. He could be out for the rest of the season after enjoying a surge in form at Broadhall Way. Yu Hirakawa went on loan to Hull City in January and has made an impact on the Tigers results since joining. Coming off the bench he has turned games and scored against the Swans for Bristol City in November. Was that a good move by the Robins ? A play off rival having a player on loan that has inspired the Tigers since he joined ? He also inspired his current side when the Swans went down 2-1 to Hull City last month. Well, he won’t be doing that tomorrow. Tom Rawcliffe Stepped down as the Robins CEO this week after just seven months in charge citing the need to move back to Nottingham as his wife is expecting their first child. Top scorers, Emil Riis and Scott Twine are on eight goals a piece but Emil remains a doubt with an injury. Ross McCrorie Didn’t play on Tuesday evening with concussion and the club are in two minds as to his inclusion tomorrow. All will become clear on that when the teams are announced. Zān Vipotnik is fit for the Swans as he retains his position in the Championship as top scorer. That’s just over a goal every two hours of football. Tickets are still available. The south stand is half full but the west stand is getting close to a sell out as has the east stand.
