News Stories for Josh Maja

Swansea City : Just how many chances do you need ! Sun 11th Jan 2026
The frustration and continual angst when watching Swansea City became a bit too much for some Swans fans after the defeat on penalties to West Bromwich Albion this afternoon. Having dominated a game they could have won by three or four goals at least - chance after chance was spurned.
Swans scrap it out to beat the Baggies Fri 02nd Jan 2026
There were some worried looks when Swansea head coach, Vitor Matos announced his starting eleven against West Bromwich Albion, not least the fact he had no striker in the team. It turned out to be a masterstroke despite a fifteen minute period in the second half, and some uneasy moments at the end of this Championship fixture.
Swans collapse in a disastrous seventy five minutes of football Sat 29th Nov 2025
A brilliant start from Swansea City this afternoon dived into another order from the menu of disastrous football. Starters of no idea after fifteen minutes, with a main course of incompetence and a big desert of stupidity. They are now equal third bottom with Portsmouth who the Swans play at home on Tuesday 9th December (7:45pm) after a home game next Saturday against Oxford United (3pm)
A point gained for the Swans : Allen isn’t dead Baggies ! Sat 04th Jan 2025
Just over 14,600 attended this game at the Swansea.com. Take away the visitors support and around 13,000 Swans fans were allegedly at this game. Season ticket holders are always included whether there or not and the ground look very bare. If there was eleven thousand home fans at this game I would have been surprised. That’s a good few thousand who have stayed away this afternoon. And well down to what we could have expected on the last Saturday before the majority return to work on Monday.
Referee Backhouse denies the Swans a point at West Brom Sat 31st Aug 2024
The Swans looked highly unlikely that they wouldn’t get a shot on goal after the first half let alone take a point from this game. They nearly did, but referee Anthony Backhouse turned down a fifty fifty penalty shout in the second half, they’ve been given, and then minutes later a clear penalty after a foul on Eom.

West Bromwich Albion v Swansea City : Sold out for Swans fans Sat 12th Aug 2023
The Jack Army travel north to the Black Country for their first away trip of the league season. Over two thousand tickets have been snapped up by the travelling jacks in a fixture that has brought some rewards in recent seasons.
Stoke City v Swansea City : Match day team news Tue 08th Feb 2022
Russell Martin’s Swansea City visit Stoke this evening in a Sky Bet Championship fixture. Both sides have had quite a sequence of exiting games with no little controversy in recent years. It may well be a mid table battle but the winners could see their season go on an upward trajectory.
