News Stories for Matthew Sorinola

Swansea through but questions remain Wed 27th Aug 2025
Swansea City defeated Plymouth Argyle on penalties last night at the Swansea.com stadium after what was a disappointing performance. Despite a Zân Vipotnik screamer the Swans failed time and time again to beat their man and struggled in possession.
Swans win in first half style as Joe Allen shines Wed 09th Apr 2025
Swansea City got their win which took them to fifty one points this evening at the Swansea.com in first half style against a very dull and uninspiring Plymouth Argyle. It should have been far more than the three goals with golden opportunities missed in the second half. However, that’s it, job done and the Swans will be playing Championship football next season. It’s not mathematically done, but with so many permutations left it may as well be.

As if by magic : The Swans throw it away again Sat 03rd Feb 2024
It wasn’t a bad game, but the Swans should have wrapped this up in the first half. The positive was Ronald, the negatives is sadly Jerry Yates who again missed an absolute sitter in the first half. He wasn’t totally to blame as the same happened in the second half for substitute Charlie a Patino. The other concern has to be the low turn out from the home fans. With lots of empty seats if there were 14,500 there I would be surprised.
TEAM NEWS : Swansea City v Plymouth Argyle Sat 03rd Feb 2024
Both sides have fresh blood from their January transfer business. The Swans have a long injury latest is Harry Darling.
Time for Armstrong to flex his muscles at Swansea City ? Sun 30th Oct 2022
Armstrong Oko-Flex is slowly gradually gaining game time in the Swansea City squad, and yesterday at Bristol City he definitely made a difference with his strong battling runs. His trade is best seen out on the wing so the best comparison as to the better option for Swansea can only be when compared to Matt Sorinola.
Swansea City dominate and ram home their quality at last ! Sat 17th Sep 2022
Russell Martin was delighted at the end of this afternoons game as his team brushed aside a pretty mundane and clueless Hull City. Despite no goals in the first half when really the swans should have scored three at least the second half was as good as we’ve seen this season.
Swansea City’s comedy of errors continue (2) Wed 17th Aug 2022
Swansea City threw away the extra points yet again at the swansea.com last night and it seems lessons, despite then being talked about for over a year are not being learned. It was a display of dominance in the first half that melted away in to a ridiculous performance that lacked any bite in the second half. And that’s being mellow, trust me it is, especially for what’s about to come.
Concentrate on the detail ? We didn’t do that ! Sun 31st Jul 2022
Swansea City head coach Russell Martin was extremely disappointed at the way Rotherham got the opening goal of the season in the 1-1 draw at the New York stadium. Having worked on the danger areas this week before the game Martin was somewhat aggrieved that having done that the swans succumbed to the very thing they highlighted as the home sides real threat.
Rotherham battle their way to a draw against Swansea City Sat 30th Jul 2022
Russell Martin will take plenty of positives from this afternoons game between Swansea City and Rotherham in South Yorkshire. Most certainly goalkeeper Andy Fisher who excelled between the posts nullifying anything the millers threw at him, and the performance of Harry Darling will have most certainly caught his eye.
