Over the same number of games (first 20 or so) Pochettino’s record was pretty much identical to Potter. The strong finish to the season significantly boosted his overall stats. Don’t blame him for wanting out of there. |

If you have negotiated all that for well under £70 especially after the recent 8.8% in contract increases you have done very well sir. I’ll be pulling the plug on Virgin tv at the end of my current contract. Unfortunately we all need broadband so will have to shop around again |

I get that Keith - always good to report on any intelligence that you can gather. Our current recruitment set up does not really inspire confidence in player selection. As I said it could be down to data & stats, the MK Dons link (through the coach) or most likely his agent touting his name to the media & other sports influencer types. |

Watch less and less of this every season. Group games are a total bore as is the BT/TNT coverage. Only watched the 2nd leg Man C v Real Madrid this season & that was only because I was in a bar in Spain at the time. Would have loved to have seen Dortmund win this one, but they just didn’t take their chances. |

Are we really interested ? First of all let it be said I know absolutely zilch about this player. From the outside a 28 yo released from MK Dons.Fleetwood unable to hold on to him. Joins Exeter, refuses to sign a new contract. Hardly screams pedigree or a gem in the lower leagues to me. If there is anything in this it must be his stats & data ( or the MK Dons connection). Is this where we are really at with our recruitment set up ? Totally uninspiring. |

Good to see you back posting. Very brave if I might say so, being so open on your absence. Hope you are fully recovered & ready to go again. Try not to get too involved with the wind-up merchants & condescending types, we all know who they are |

Think you are right about Pochettino, it’s almost more difficult to fail with the resources he had available. Not sure about RM, he had 2 seasons at it & was still making the same mistakes well in to his second season |

Should have quit (with quite a few others) after the shambolic showing in the last World cup |

When you say … “very sad the way it all ended” … are you referring just to the fact that the Trust were kept in the dark about the sale or is there something else for the people not in the know out there ? |

Man U are not blessed with many good players at the moment - unbelievable to think he’s on north of £100k per week with another 2 years on his contract … worth adding that ETH is playing him out of position due to injuries but still, way past it … |
| Forum Reply | Swansea City : Nathan Wood knows he is available for transfer at 22:20 10 May 2024
He has improved with us but failed to kick on this season. Overall he has been pretty poor this season & struggles with the style that we are trying to implement. Can’t see any club in the Championship shelling out £5-6m. Offers of £2-3m for average players are few and far between in the Championship as nearly all clubs are haemorrhaging cash. Bite anyone’s hand off for any offer of £2-3m |

I am pretty sure that the clubs will get a bigger share of tv money or they would not agree to it. My point is at what cost ? Early kick offs & Sunday matches are just not for me. If we are down to 8 matches with 3pm kick offs on Saturdays I can see a significant drop off in future season ticket sales & probably on-the-day walk ups will also reduce - just my opinion - I suspect that the atmosphere can only get worse too |

This is exactly the same mistake that the Welsh rugby regions & the league they play in has made. The games are irregular played at silly times for tv rarely on Saturday & never at 3pm. The league programme is spread over the whole weekend. We have all seen what that has done to crowds watching rugby these days, nobody bothers & interest is at an all time low. Risky strategy for what reward ? |

Thanks to Keith & those that run the site and all the posters who get involved. It is and has been the first place I visit for my daily dose of the Swans for a few years now. Keep up the great work |
| Forum Reply | Swansea City : The confusing decision making for a whole season at 13:55 5 May 2024
“…had the Swans been relegated some real in your face action was planned.” …. this needs some more context and detail, got me hooked. Based on our financial situation, LW is gonna have to get the youngsters integrated into the first team squad & on the field rapidly as I can’t see many incoming without shedding a lot of the out of contract bunch first, even then we will struggle to attract quality in the numbers required on our budget. As for yesterday’s selection, just baffling … unless there was some kind of message or point being made. Even then sacrificing your chances of winning to make a point is a pretty extreme way to make a point even if was last game of a dreadful season |

The original decision was a shocker, VAR failure to overturn even worse. Had he not given it, no way would have VAR overturned it. |
| Forum Reply | Swans supporters consult Kieran Maguire and when did Andy start as Chairman ? at 13:45 2 May 2024
There may be an infinite number of ways to look in to the numbers produced in this article, a couple stand out for me. Matchday income is way lower now than in 2010. About 30% lower. So much for the business acumen since change of ownership or just the difference in supporters following a team on the up v a team on the slide ? Since 2016 player sales profits are around £160,000,000 a staggering amount of money to take in for a club making a loss most years. |
