Absolutely gutted, but a fantastic match and a great effort by the lads and well worth staying up in the wee hours glued to the tv. Saints were clearly the better team. JWP found a new gear and was impressive. Yoshida and Oriel were strong, and it was great fun watching Bertrand, Tadic and Redmond cause havoc. Gabby is awesome - getting into the right place (one bad run aside) with quality finishing for a well-taken hat trick. We needed him months ago.
We lost, but gave a much better and more honest account of ourselves than in 2003. Big finish to the season please boys! |
