Go to Burnley, finish mid-table and get the Real job when Ancelotti leaves. |

Yes, he really is a c*nt. I don't know how anyone who is notionally on the left can vote for them. He's not even good at being duplicitous like Blair was, at least in the mid-90s. Just a charisma-free void who'll say anything (even blatantly contradicting things he's already said) to gain power. |

Surprised the Tories haven't pledged to reintroduce the death penalty as that would be far more popular than national service. Plus they could sell themselves as the party of law and order against the man who failed to prosecute Jimmy Savile. |

Obviously Labour will win the election but it will be fun to watch them be every bit as useless as the Tories over the next few years. Just listening to Mrs Balls on Radio 4 set out how anyone who crosses illegally in a boat will be eligible for asylum under them - that's certainly going to deter them, isn't it! |

He should start getting song titles into the testimonials, like the England players did in interviews at Euro 96. |

David May, who United signed for £1.2m in 1994 and won multiple trophies with them? Hardly a decent comparison with the likes of Niko and Drewe, who will be lucky to have careers above non-league level. |

What was Nourry supposed to say? He hasn't played much since he gave Millwall the freedom of Bermondsey to attack our right flank with. |

Personally I feel it was to his detriment rather than ours and was surprising as he has always given his all. Just seems a bit short-sighted not to take a loan and play for another club for a few months, rather than turn out for the development squad. Maybe he thought there was a chance Marti would change his mind... |

Still think it was a poor decision by him not to go out on loan in January. |

No, Leeds have the superior goal difference despite their recent thrashing. |
| Forum Reply | Andre Dozzell at 11:52 30 Apr 2024
The most concerning thing for me is that we've had players like Dozzell and Kakay who have been fixtures in our squad for several seasons yet we fans have known they're not up to the required standard. Marti took a look and got rid of them straightaway. That speaks volumes for him and what he is about - very exciting times. |
| Forum Reply | Are we capable of going up next season. at 11:46 30 Apr 2024
We should be targeting the play-offs. Under Marti we've matched all of the top six - would have beaten WBA and Ipswich if the handballs had been given, beat Leicester away, hammered Leeds, merited a draw against Norwich and lost 1-0 to Southampton. And that's with this squad. No reason that we can't be in the top six next season. |

Think Hayden has made a positive impression too and both Hodge and Frey scored important goals. Notwithstanding their merits, offloading Dozzell to a relegation rival is the best transfer business we've done in years. [Post edited 29 Apr 14:54]

For me the most impressive thing about Marti is that he is ruthless, as shown by him getting rid of both Kakay and Dozzell. He recognised that neither of them is up to the required standard and jettisoned them. That augurs well for the summer. |

That Paal equaliser against Huddersfield and Jimmy's scorcher against Birmingham are hard to separate as we shot ourselves in the foot generally against teams scrapping down the bottom. Keeping parity and even gaining points on those two, both of whom could go down, was vital. Plus we didn't play well on either occasion. |

What Marti has done is incredible and Friday's performance was the best I've seen from us in years. Credit to whoever identified him. However, it does show how much of the last decade has been wasted on lazy, half-arsed appointments. Bhatia appointed Ainsworth because he had "an itch to scratch". Imagine giving your boss that excuse for some f*ck-up at work. You sense with the new CEO, that the grown-ups are back in the room (even if they're under 30) and we have plans in place, rather than drifting nowhere. |
