I'd had the crap kicked out of me in South Ruislip three days before the final. Outside Queensmead school. Broken nose all over the shop, black eyes and broken ribs. I was fifteen, just about to be sixteen. Walked along the north circular to Wembley. Comfortably the worst week of my life. Remember Chelsea fans in there in blue/green jumpers?
Looking forward to a new away ground though! |

The old Manor Ground was the weirdest ground I'd ever been to. It had about nineteen stands. And a shark sticking out of the roof of a house on the way in [Post edited 19 May 22:24]

You can say all you like about the correct decision, and offside's offside, but that was marginal (do we not see the lines any more?) And that has ruined a moment those fans would have remembered for the rest of their lives |

I've been in every part of the ground at some stage. Started in the SAR as a kid in the late seventies as my dad had a season ticket there. Then in mid eighties to mid nineties floated around between the paddocks and loft. Had a season ticket in the lower loft since the 95-96 season. Would love to try the safe standing but my fellow 50 something cousins who I go with don't fancy it. Once bunked into a midweek game against Carlisle in the league cup and sat in an empty Ellerslie road stand. No one around for miles. Ten minutes in, some old bloke asked me to move because I was in his seat. Fair enough |

I always remember watching that back on the telly later, and just before the corner for our equaliser came over Tony Gubba said words to the effect of "and can Manchester United hold on here, because it's really important to them"

One of my best ever nights at Loftus Road. Bought a ticket off a tout outside. Can still remember both goals hitting the back of the net. stood in the loft, just to the left of the goal [Post edited 19 Apr 19:14]
