The IFO Report
at 22:55:53

To be honest it's clear to see that the club acted wrongly to cancel the season ticket and should of been reinstated with maybe a bit of compensation.

The Wembley issue is a totally different issue and should be dealt with properly and as it seems to of been a disaster from what I've heard from people who I've spoke to about the situation and just walking past on the day it didn't look great.

Would A Move To The Premier Benefit Chamberlain ?
at 13:23:15

Football like most sports is a game of ifs and buts.

I would prefer him to stay for the time being and feel that it would benefit his career. IF we do sell him in a years time rather than now his value MAY go down BUT as we're a club with supposedlly plenty of money why should we worry that that might happen? It isn't set in stone nor is it for definate that he will go or even wants to, the difference between him and Theo is his dad is a footballing man and has been a good professional Theo's dad wasn't so I wouldn't be suprised if he just focused on the money and the feeling that he must of had that said his son was as good as Henry as every hype machine would tell you back then.

I don't think it matters either whether we had no money back when Theo and Bale went or that we have money now as if a player wants to go and there's a team that wants him then he will go regardless of the potential good future we may have.

Can Saints Beat The Tranmere Hoodoo
at 13:09:23

Went to that memorable game in 2001 and still can hear my dad saying to me at half time "we will lose this 4-3...." No lie! He was so certain that he wrote out a betting slip to do it but didn't get chance to go into the bookies. Yet for some reason enjoyed the experience then and also did last season when the team gave one of its worse performances of the whole of the season but somehow did enough to feel annoyed that we didn't come away with the point.

Going again on Saturday and looking forward to it again but hoping that our voodo can finally be lifted.

Saints V Notts County The Verdict
at 11:35:34

I see it as a set back but nothing else and not worrying whatsoever.

We got a clean sheet, something at the start of the season I doubt we would of got. We had a couple of very good opportunities including the on the line clearance that if they had gone in I I have no doubts that we would of hammered them. Saying that 'if' is a long word so can't really dwell on what could of been but one thing is for certain Puncheon should be a good enough replacement for Lallana but for some reason he never performs as well as he can and is very frustrating.

The other little point I'd like to point out is we probably had less shots than we have had in any of the past 5 or 6 games and even though there is an argument to say we shouldn't need loads of shots to get 1 goal the fact is we do so I was a bit baffled when it seemed like Fonte was the only person willing to shoot outside of the box.

Saints V Brentford The Preview
at 12:22:58

Positive preview and agree with squad selection.

Lambert is the worry and it's hard to argue on either decision. If Lambert plays which I think he will do then its a sign of the manager having confidence in his star striker to eventually change the form and with his goal scoring record in this league over the past few seasons it's hard to drop him but if he is dropped then his biggest fans can't exactly argue about it considering the form he's been in recently.

I can see it being a 442 tomorrow with good midfield back up and pace available if needed towards the end of the game.

Are FA Cup Tickets Too Expensive

As I know geezershoong has realised that what I said (re 28-30k) was tongue in cheek I will now applogise for my very dry sense of humour...

Are FA Cup Tickets Too Expensive
at 18:21:51

No I don't think its too expensive and I think you explained why it's at that price, because of an agreement with Blackpool. We may be able to have more control over smaller league 2 clubs but not a premier league club. Imagine what it would of been if it was a team like Chelsea, Man u, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham or Man city.

Will I be going? No I doubt it as I feel the league games are more important and this is a game where more of the day trippers will be in force to make up for people who feel the same as me who won't go. My predictions for the attendance will be about 28-30k I reckon.

A Thank You To Adam Lallana
at 16:19:08

I don't think he will go, he still has too much to lose and far more to gain at Saints. If we don't go up to the Chapionship this season then I'm sure he will go.

I won't blame him for going though even if he went tomorrow and I doubt many people will do. I just hope that he signs a new contract so the least it does is increase his value because we would have to spend big to get someone of that quality in this division.

Time To Get Behind The Team
at 11:49:15

Lets put it this way the fans that went to Wembley aren't likley to come to this site on a daily basis are they?

Attendances will pick up immediatley after Christmas as people would of brought their family and friends tickets for presents. That explains why so many turned up on boxing day last season.

Saints At Carlisle The Verdict
at 17:33:49

The old rule and still pretty true is if you win your home games and draw the away games you will be promoted so as it goes we're averaging more than a point a game away from home so we're doing the job there.

I don't doubt that our away form needs to pick up so that we haven't got as much pressure on our home form but I can't see us losing too many when we're scoring 2 in games away from home.

Our last 6 home games have gave us 13 points if we had done that at the start of the season while averaging 7 points for every 6 away games there wouldn't be so much pressure on us to get more points away from home than we have recently.

Saints At Carlisle The Verdict
at 14:31:50

Now that report is more like gloating then anything else. You seem more pleased with a loss than a win all because you feel you have been proven right!

I along with many others who watched the game agreed that although not at a great standard yet we played our best we have played away from home all season apart from the Bristol Rovers game.

If you think about it you have too often said about how fortunate we have been to win this game and win that game but at the end of theday for the same reason you say we were fortunate we can say that we were unfortunate against Carlisle.

Lets face it we had more shots on goal more shots off target and more possession. We dominated for large periods and all because of 2 defensive errors we lost and one I don't think could of been stopped (Hardings own goal).

Scoring 2 away from home as well as having more of the ball and more shots supports the idea to play 4-5-1. We scored 2 goals away from home and you tell me how many away teams scored 2 or more goals away from home and lost this weekend I'll give you a clue in all of league football there was 1 more than 2 and 1 less than 4 and howm many away teams who scored 2 or more goals was there well there were 15 so as you can see most teams who score 2 away from home get at least a point.

So where was the blame for the defeat if indeed you can blame any one thing well you could say the defence as apart from Hardings own goal which you couldn't really blame him for you could say defence as the other 2 goals were down to defensive errors. Or if you're a Adkins hater you could say the manager for changing a winning team and playing 4-5-1 I would say that Jaidi should be too good for any forward in this league and many people have been getting on Seabornes back recently so can understand that change. The problem was Jaidi was clearly not match fit and his distribution was awful so if I was to blame anyone I would blame him followed by another poor performance by Harding.

I also think after all the people moaning about Puncheon it was clear to see that as good as Oxo is he isn't ready to play a full 90minutes.

Saints At Notts County The Verdict
at 12:06:16

Yes Davis makes some stpid decisions sometimes but he is in the position that is the easiest to critisise. Bearing that in mind he has made more of his fair share of saves that has kept us in and probably more so than mistakes that has lost us games.

I thought I was the only person that thought that we did well in the first half but the stats seem to back up my thoughts as well. No I'm not going mad when I say we did well I mean after their goal and it was obvious to me that in the 2nd half playing against 10 or 11 men wouldn't of mattered we would of still won. We seem to be fitter than most teams in this league and obviously have better quality than most.

Saints V Dagenham & Redbridge The Preview
at 11:45:14

Although I understand what this article is saying I can't help reading it and thinking that this is very negative. The way the article starts reminding us that we don't always perform at home against teams with poor away records and then continues to focus on being fortuitous in our games rather than clearly being the better side. Then the negativity continues by suggesting that the only decent team we have played was Huddersfeild when I beg to differ because I thought although not up to the standard of Huddersfield Oldham looked far better than last season and looked pretty decent. Also games like Notts County are not easy away from home, fans with a little bit of memory will remember that we would lose games like that and Oldham last season and the excuse would come up that we can't play against teams or grounds like that. We lost badly to Huddersfield away last season so there is no change there. The only difference is more of our fans were positive last season all you had to do is be at Notts county on saturday and notice the difference in mindset compared to last season, there were far more people moaning even before we went 1-0 down and even after we were in control and cruising to a win.

Even in the last paragraph the negativity is ripe as you mention lapses in concentration and individual errors. Am I mistaken or is football a game played by humans where even the most ellite players make mistakes regularly? I thought so! The difference is the team that normally does the best is the team that has the most quality to make up for the mistakes made and if we are winning and making plenty of notable mistakes surely this is a sign of a good team becuase god knows what we would do if we made far fewer mistakes.

Us as fans will make this challenge of getting promoted even harder if all we talk about is the negatives. I keep on saying this until I'm blue in the face, this is league 1 not the Premier league or Champions league, we are far from perfection (not that the Premier league or champions league is perfect and no mistakes are made) so why do people expect it?
