Correct. I agree with little, if anything that Tice says but he's bang on about political reform (no pun intended) |

Not really, no. People have a right to be worried about what's going on but the idea that all our ills stem from "illegals" is for the fairies. Plus his points would resonate more if he actually stood for election rather than shît stirring from the sidelines with zero accountability. My question is why does the government choose expensive hotels and Bobby Stockholm over actually staffing border force and working internationally, which is clearly more cost effective? There's a debate to be had around people being displaced but that requires an international effort with grown ups talking around the table and being truthful. I think we all agree that's unlikely for a while (if ever) |

I wouldn't say you're wasting time. He is very active amongst the local community and I'm not knocking him as a constituency MP. My central point is (a) a large chunk of Islington is an absolute shîthole despite what the twáts in the media will tell you and (b) a good local MP does not make a leader of a party. |

There's a bit more nuance to this my good chum, but that's best discussed over a vimto! |

Not being provocative here, but have you actually been to North Islington? I can tell you Brewery Road isn't actually Tuscany. He does loads with the community and is a good constituency MP. He was a shît party leader |

Corbyn is doing what Corbyn does. Cracking local MP but nothing more than that |

We desperately need electoral reform. FPTP means far too many votes are wasted. Add into the mix a totally useless client media which creates the breeding ground for minority parties (both left and right) can shout from the sides without ever being accountable |

The missed opportunities with these were as follows: - a sovereign wealth fund would've been quid pro quo as Norway did - a retention of shares for the UK so we could've had dividends - ring fencing of right to buy money to build social housing Without a tardis unfortunately we can't do that |

Not forgetting the fact that we wasted 3 years with Rugby's answer to Frank Spencer in charge. |

I think this issue is worthy of discussion; taxpayers do spend a heck of a lot training doctors who then leave to love abroad. How you implement that in a capitalist society is far from easy as you say |

Easier to blame Blair, mun. |

Tony Blair had nothing to do with the coalition and continued Conservative majorities deciding not to enforce rules. It was cheaper to keep people on the sausage roll rather than deport after 3 months. |

Well to be fair to you, Milliband and Corbyn were hardly viable alternatives. On your last point, that's why we urgently need electoral reform. People of all persuasions should have a voice and apathy leads us to where we are now! |

I'm not saying Labour are perfect, but facts are facts. Who has been in for nearly 14 years, promised unicorns and radically increased legal and illegal migration? It's now 2024 which has nothing to do with Tony Blair. "No parliament may be hindered by it's predecessor". Successive parliaments have chosen to do nothing rather than howl and play to the crowd. However my main point is until we have sweeping electoral reform and people stop doffing their caps to people with posh accents, we are Donald ducked as they say [Post edited 1 Jan 21:06]

Tony Blair was a long long time ago, like I said the Tories have had ample time to do something and they've made it worse. Dare I say it an opportunity from Brexit was to heavily invest in home grown skilled labour (especially in construction, digital/tech) through the apprenticeship levy and they've buggered that up too. We always had the opportunity to send EU migrants packing after 3 months if they weren't in work, but it was "cheaper" to keep them on the sausage roll rather than fully staff border force. And on PR, that gives a broader presence for candidates from the left and right. As it stands no doubt Froggy Führage and Tice will bottle it and stand down to help the Tories like they did in 2019. With PR they have a seat at the table and are accountable in parliament. It cannot be any worse than the arcane FPTP and instead of Muppets like Corbyn and Tice howling with little to no influence, they have to enact what they've promised their loyal followers [Post edited 31 Dec 2023 22:37]

If you think the Tories are the lesser of the two evils when they've just undertaken one of the largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in the past 13 years then there really is no hope for you. For a party of sound money, they are pretty dire at that, aren't they? And for more bonus points, which party could do something about migration but chooses not to so they can howl on GBN, in the Mail and in the Telegraph? Which party has actually over seen huge increases in net migration? It's not actually labour... The real problem lies in FPTP, proportional representation is the way forward, where parties have to work together in the national interest to deliver for the people. [Post edited 31 Dec 2023 18:25]

I think you've misunderstood what I've said. The Mail, sun et Al have done untold damage to this country with the bike and lies they tell on a daily basis. Edit, my crack handed wording. Actually regulating the shîtty behaviour was my point, sorry Winston! [Post edited 31 Dec 2023 14:31]
